The Arizona Diamondbacks continue to send out pitchers. They just sent Archie Bradley and cash to the Cincinnati Reds for utilityman Josh VanMeter and outfielder Stuart Fairchild.
The Diamondbacks traded Bradley who has been in their bullpen for the past three-plus seasons. He has pitched better than his 4.22 ERA would tell. His FIP is 2.01 and he hasn’t allowed a HR this season in 10.2 innings. Bradley also has one more year of control before he becomes a free agent at the end of 2021. The Reds are in a precarious position but could make the playoffs this season in the new format. Bradley is certainly a welcomed addition to their back end.
VanMeter has been struggling this year but the 25-year-old gives the Diamondbacks some depth and can play around the diamond. Fairchild has very good plate discipline as shown by his 19/23 BB/K rate last season in Double-A. He could turn out to be a valuable piece for Arizona’s outfield in a year or two.

VanMeter a good trade – struggling at plate, but homeruns will come and can easily play every position infield and outfield
