NHL DFS DraftKings Ice Picks December 19th, 2019

Joel Dorcas | December 19th, 2019

We are getting closer and closer to the Christmas break, teams will be able to rest up for three days during this short hiatus. Much deserved, especially if your name is Freddie Andersen. For tonight we have 10 games on the docket. My feature games are as follows; Chicago at Winnipeg, Nashville at Ottawa, Buffalo at Philadelphia, and, Carolina at Colorado. Let’s get it going and make some Ice Picks!

CORE MUST-HAVES ⭐

Mark Scheifele C WPG $7,200

The Jets continue to be on many people’s radar as they have gone 6-3-1 while averaging 3.60 goals per contest in their last 10. The Blackhawks come into this one with a 3-6-1 record while allowing 4.00 goals per in their previous 10(before last night’s game). Jets center Mark Scheifele has been far-and-away the best player on the team. He is averaging 18.1DK pts per game (8G,6A, 35 shots, 12 blocks) in his last 10 games.

Roman Josi D NSH $6,400

The Ottawa Senators are back to their struggling ways as they have secured just three victories in their last 10 games. They have allowed an average of 3.90 goals per game during the stretch. The over has hit in eight of the 10 games. Nikita Zaitsev and Dylan Demelo being sidelined won’t help the back end, they will both be out for this one. The Preds have caught the goal-scoring bug, they lit the lamp 13 times in road games against the Rangers and Islanders. They are good for 3.40 goals per game over their last 10. Heading the charge is Roman Josi. Josi is getting 25.1 minutes per game and is averaging 14.8 DK pts per game. He has a team-leading 18 shots over the last five games.

Ryan Graves D COL $4,900

Colorado is certainly rolling right now as they have dropped just two games in their last 10 heading into Wednesday’s tilt with Chicago. They are averaging 3.80 goals per game during this time period. At home, they are scoring nearly four goals per game(3.93). It has been reported that even though he is close to 100 percent, stud rookie D man Cale Makar will sit out both Wednesday and Thursday’s game. This bodes well for fellow rear-guard Ryan Graves who should see an uptick in minutes. The production over the last 10 games has been really solid. 3G, 4A, 24 shots, and 23 blocks, good for an average of 12.3 DK pts per game.

VALUE PLAYS

Ryan Johansen C NSH $4,300

The Predators have a very balanced scoring attack which makes it difficult to pinpoint which players to choose. A perfect example is center Ryan Johansen. What separates him from others in this tier is his designation as the center on the first powerplay unit. Johansen, mostly known for filling the assists column, has three goals in his last five games.

Kevin Hayes C PHI $4,300

The Buffalo Sabres have been involved in some high scoring goals of late as the over has hit in 6 of their last eight games. The Flyers are averaging 3.30 goals per game in their last 10. They have been good for 3.59 goals per contest when at home. Kevin Hayes keeps putting pucks on net which makes him a cut above players like James van Riemsdyk(4.4K). Hayes has 2G, 5A and an impressive 29 shots over the last five games.

Matt Niskanen D PHI $4,200

Matt Niskanen has been a very valuable piece for the Flyers this season. He logs over 21 minutes on average per night. In 17 home games this season he has registered 10 points. For his last 10 contests, he has put up 25 shots and 10 blocks good for a very respectable average of 8.6DK pts.

STACK ‘EM

  1. Nashville Predators– Josi(D), Johansen(C), Duchene(C), Forsberg(W)
  2. Winnipeg Jets– Scheifele(C), Wheeler(C), Connor(W), Pionk(D)
  3. Philadelphia Flyers– Couturier(C), Giroux(W), Konecny(W), Provorov(D)

Good luck to everyone tonight, keep grinding out those lineups!
