Jets, Giants Announce No Fans Allowed at MetLife Stadium

The New York Giants and New York Jets have officially announced that there will not be fans in attendance at home games in the stadium they share in East Rutherford, N.J., until further notice. Presumably, “until further notice” will stretch beyond the conclusion of the 2020 NFL season.

The teams cited New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy’s executive order on public gatherings limit of 500 people, from which the two pro football teams were not exempt.

This announcement is not surprising given the similar precautions and guidelines throughout the country due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Giants and Jets are the latest but likely won’t be the last to announce the same decision.
