Nottingham Forest have appointed Oliver Glasner as their new head coach, making him the fifth permanent manager to take charge of the club within 12 months.
That level of upheaval has made Forest one of the more unpredictable names to track in the Premier League odds heading into a new campaign.
Glasner arrives from Crystal Palace, where he spent two and a half seasons and won an FA Cup, a Community Shield and a UEFA Europa Conference League title, the most successful spell in the club’s history. He replaces Vitor Pereira, who left the City Ground after helping Forest avoid relegation, following a season that had already brought three managerial changes before he even arrived.

Nuno Espirito Santo
Nuno was the first manager to leave the City Ground last season, sacked in September 2025 after just three matches in charge. That came despite guiding Forest to seventh place the previous season, their highest league finish since 1994-95, and a first European campaign in 30 years. His relationship with owner Evangelos Marinakis had broken down over the summer, and the club acted quickly to end his 21-month spell.
Ange Postecoglou
Postecoglou replaced Nuno but lasted only 39 days, the shortest permanent managerial reign in Premier League history. He didn’t win any of his eight matches in charge, taking two draws and six defeats and picking up just one point from five league games. He was dismissed following a 3-0 home defeat to Chelsea, with Forest sitting one point above the relegation zone in 17α΅Κ° at the time.
Sean Dyche
Dyche arrived next on a contract running to the summer of 2027 and steadied things for a spell. He took over with Forest 18α΅Κ° in the table after one win in eight matches, and following a 2-0 defeat to Bournemouth in his first game in charge, guided the side to four wins and a draw across the following seven fixtures. He was nominated for manager of the month in January, but a run of poor results, ending with a home draw against bottom-placed Wolverhampton Wanderers, brought his 114-day tenure to a close.
Vitor Pereira
Pereira’s appointment in February 2026 made Forest the first club in Premier League history to have four permanent managers in one season. He steered the side to safety, and Forest eventually finished 16α΅Κ°, but he departed once the campaign ended, which paved the way for Glasner’s arrival this summer.
Oliver Glasner
Glasner takes charge, having overseen one of the most successful periods in Crystal Palace’s history, and he arrives with a reputation as one of Europe’s more progressive coaches. He previously led Eintracht Frankfurt to Europa League glory in 2021-22 and guided Wolfsburg into Champions League qualification, adding continental pedigree to a CV that already includes silverware in England. Owner Evangelos Marinakis has made clear that the ambition now is to compete for major honors rather than aim only to stay in the Premier League, and Glasner’s task is to bring some stability to a dugout that’s seen constant change.
