Report: Former NFL Running Back Accused of Murder-for-Hire, Drug Trafficking Involvement

Former Titans, Jets, and Cardinals running back and NFL rushing champion Chris Johnson has been accused of funding a pair of murder-for-hire killings in 2016.

According to TMZ, officials believe Johnson rewarded a friend and known gang member with cash after the man allegedly killed two men who were suspected of gunning down Johnson’s friend in 2015, allegedly.

This stems from the 2015 shooting in Orlando, Fla., where someone shot up a vehicle that Johnson was in during the early hours of the morning. Johnson recovered from a bullet wound to his shoulder but the driver of the vehicle died as a result of the shooting.

As of now, Johnson has not been charged with any crime but stands “formally accused.” He is also being looked at for his potential and continuous funding of a drug trafficking organization based in the Orange County, Fla., area.

According to court documents obtained by TMZ, “intelligence gathered suggested, the 2015 shooting was a gang-related murder attempt on Chris Johnson.”

It is believed that a gang member named Dominic Bolden shot and killed two men on separate occasions in 2016. Those two men are believed to be the men responsible for the attempt on Johnson’s life and the killing of his friend.

The accusations come into play as Johnson allegedly rewarded Bolden for the revenge killings with an unspecified amount of money. The money was used by Bolden to become the head of one of the biggest drug trafficking organizations in the state of Florida.

It remains to be seen if these crimes will lead to formal charges. Johnson has denied the accusations.
