Duke’s Tre Jones Enters NBA Draft

Duke point guard Tre Jones told ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski on Saturday that he’s entering the 2020 NBA Draft.

Jones is the younger brother of Memphis Grizzlies guard Tyus Jones and is projected as a first-round pick. This season, he averaged 16.2 points-per-game, along with 6.4 assists, 4.2 rebounds, and 1.8 steals. Jones shot 42.3 percent (36.1 percent from three).

Jones was also named the ACC Defensive Player of the Year and 2020 ACC Player of the Year.

So where will Jones end up? Jonathan Wasserman of Bleacher Report has Jones going to the Milwaukee Bucks, writing:

“The Bucks could look at Jones as an immediate contributor during their championship window. He made a strong jump this year as a scorer (16.2 PPG) and shooter (1.3 3PT, 36.1 percent), but it’s still his passing IQ, defensive pressure and intangibles that Milwaukee would see carrying over to its second unit.”

CBS Sports has Jones going to the Miami Heat, SB Nation has him going to the Utah Jazz, Sporting New has him going to the Oklahoma City Thunder, MYNBADRAFT.com has him going to the Boston Celtics, and NBA Draft Net has Jones going to the Philadelphia 76ers, according to Shawn Krest of Sports Illustrated.

Jones could also possibly join his brother in Memphis.
