The Cowboys certainly have had themselves a whirlwind of a few weeks. At first, Dak Prescott was not a lock to remain on the team. Then, he was franchise tagged. Now, Jerry Jones has opened up his checkbook so he can retain his No. 1 wideout. in Amari Cooper.
The Cowboys now have a trio of franchise stars in quarterback Prescott, running back Ezekiel Elliott, and wide receiver Cooper.
The deal will pay Cooper $100 million over the next five seasons. This is one of the larger deals for a receiver.
Amari Cooper intends to re-sign with the Dallas Cowboys on a 5-year, $100 million deal, league sources tell ESPN.

Cooper was the best receiving prospect in the 2015 class and was taken by the Raiders with the fourth overall pick. The four-time Pro Bowler only missed the honorable game in 2017.
Cooper was flipped over to Dallas in November 2018 for a first-round pick. (The selection turned out to be safety Jonathan Abram.) Cooper repeatedly acknowledged that had he stayed on the Raiders, he would not have been able to find the success that you are about to hear about.
Cooper had a very formidable 2018 but this past season is the talk of the town.
Cooper played all 16 games last season and caught 79 receptions for 1,189 total yards while averaging 15.1 yards per catch and scoring eight touchdowns.
Cooper will undoubtedly bring continued excellence to Dallas and keep the Super Bowl hopes alive for many more years.
