In perfect Vikings nature, they have locked up one of their own before free agency started.
They have placed a franchise tag on safety Anthony Harris, paying him $11.4 million in 2020.
A surprise: the #Vikings have franchise tagged S Anthony Harris, either keeping him in Minnesota or allowing them to trade him. Maybe the top FA safety won’t be free.

Harris was soon-to-be one of the top free agents available and the Vikings have now ensured that they don’t have to look as seriously at defense when facing the market.
Anthony was originally signed as an undrafted free agent back in 2015 by the Vikings which makes his story so interesting. This past season, he was tied for the team lead in interceptions. Over his career, he has nine interceptions, 127 solo tackles, and 180 combined tackles in 65 career games. Keep in mind he only was a starter in 2019.
On top of that, he was definitely one of the more notable Pro-Bowl snubs this past season.
