The New England Patriots and wide receiver Julian Edelman have reached a consensus on a multi-year contract that will keep him with the team for what would assume to be the rest of his prime.

Edelman was reported to make a base salary $3 million in 2017, this being the final season of his previous four-year $17 million dollar contract which began in 2014. The new contract extends all the way through 2019 and pays the wide receiver $11 million in two years.
