Sources: Atlanta Hawks Fielding Calls on Alex Len

At 8-28, the young-minded Atlanta Hawks currently sit with the worst record in the NBA and are expected to be a very busy team in the next few weeks.

Ahead of the Feb. 7 trade deadline, the Hawks have engaged with multiple teams on big man Alex Len.

The 26-year-old Ukrainian is quietly having a nice season off the bench for the Hawks. While his minutes are down (18 minutes per game), he averages 8.8 PPG and 5.6 RPG and will become an unrestricted free agent this summer.

The following teams are among those in on Len, sources tell Prime Time Sports Talk.

Pistons

The Pistons are exploring every trade route for Andre Drummond and a trade with Atlanta has been discussed. Len would be a nice fit for the Pistons, who may be in for a complete overhaul come this summer.

Celtics:

Marcus Smart has been playing center at times for the Celtics. Joel Embiid, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Domantas Sabonis will all be playing in the East and come playoff time, Boston will need a reliable big man to defend and score on both sides of the ball. It’s worth noting that Atlanta has interest in Robert Williams.

Wizards:

The Wizards are waiting to see what happens with John Wall, but for now, they are in a rebuild-type mode. They sit four games back of the final spot in the East, and if they can acquire Len for cheap, they remain interested. The Wizards are banged up at the center position and Len could come in and play big minutes right off the bat.
