Earlier today, news came out that the NFL was going to punish the New England Patriots but it was unknown what said punishment would be.
Now the NFL has released an official statement contradicting that early report.
Statement from NFL to update investigation on Patriots: “The investigation is ongoing and there has been no discussion of any potential discipline. Any suggestion of potential discipline or a timeline on an announcement is pure speculation.”

This entire situation has been somewhat blown out of proportion and the report of potential punishment coming within weeks was gasoline on the fire.
The league has already stated that they have found no evidence linking any football operations to the illegal filming of the Bengals sideline.?
The longer this investigation goes on, it would seem the less likely the Patriots will get any significant punishment.
One thing is certain though, we have not heard the last of this ordeal.
