While most power rankings will fluctuate wildly, these should stay reasonably similar on a week-to-week basis.
Number 32: Cincinnati Bengals (ELO: 1168, +0)
The comedy show of the Cincinnati Bengals lost their 11th consecutive game on Sunday. The 2008 Lions and 2017 Browns are watching very closely.
Number 31: New York Giants (ELO: 1246, -1)
The Giants were reasonably competitive against the Bears, but there is still a way to go for the G-Men. Daniel Jones is promising, though.
Number 30: Washington Redskins (ELO: 1274, +1)
The Redskins won a game! By winning a game, they have gifted the Bengals an easier route to the No. 1 pick in the draft.
Number 29: Miami Dolphins (ELO: 1290, -2)
The Dolphins have suddenly remembered how to tank properly. With the Eagles coming to town, expect a 10th loss.
Number 28: Detroit Lions (ELO: 1313, -3)
After starting the season 2-0-1, the Lions have gone 1-7. While not every loss is bad, the loss to the Redskins was an absolutely pitiful performance.
Number 27: Atlanta Falcons (ELO: 1325, -4)
After back-to-back good wins, the Falcons remembered that they are hot trash.
Number 26: Arizona Cardinals (ELO: 1328, +0)
The idle Cardinals will host the Rams on Sunday. The Cardinals could give the death blow to the Rams, so they might look more lively than their 3-7-1 record shows.
Number 25: Tampa Bay Buccaneers (ELO: 1352, +3)
The Buccaneers shined in a big way in Atlanta. While the win is fairly meaningless, the Bucs have showcased their ridiculous offense once again.
Number 24: Denver Broncos (ELO: 1362, -1)
In the battle of the Allens, Brandon lost to Josh in a big way. Drew Lock might be on the horizon.
Number 23: Jacksonville Jaguars (ELO: 1381, -2)
The Jaguars are in a tailspin. They have been clobbered over the last few weeks, and a hot Buccaneers offense could send the Jaguars to yet another loss on Sunday.
Number 22: New York Jets (ELO: 1394, +7)
Somehow just two games out of the final playoff spot, the Jets have an advantageous schedule with the Bengals and Dolphins coming up. While the Jets will miss the playoffs, Adam Gase has likely saved his job.
Number 21: Cleveland Browns (ELO: 1400, +3)
The Browns are just half a game out of the playoffs with four fairly easy games in their last five matchups. A win over the Steelers would bring the Browns back to .500 for the first time since they led the division at 2-2.
Number 20: Oakland Raiders (ELO: 1431, -6)
As soon as I began to believe in the Raiders, they were demolished by the Jets. It was a horrific performance, and it was shameful.
Number 19: Los Angeles Chargers (ELO: 1448, +1)
Due to the ineptitude of their division rival, the Chargers slide up a spot. Derwin James will likely make his season debut, but it comes too late in the season for the Chargers to make a dent in the playoff picture. However, the Chargers have taken a 4-7 start into the playoffs on two occasions since 1990 while just one other team has accomplished it.
Number 18: Carolina Panthers (ELO: 1461, +0)
The Panthers almost upset the Saints, but Joey Slye failed at the most basic aspect of life by shanking a 28-yard field goal. According to NextGenStats, it was the most unlikely miss of the entire season. The Panthers lost all hope on one kick.
Number 17: Chicago Bears (ELO: 1462, +2)
The Bears have likely missed their window at the playoffs this season, but they actually won a game. In the mess of the NFC, the Bears have been stepped on in every way, and they may have to look for a quarterback in the off-season.
Number 16: Pittsburgh Steelers (ELO: 1504, +1)
The Steelers have benched Mason Rudolph in favor of Devlin Hodges. Rudolph has been atrocious in recent weeks while Hodges might not be terrible. The Steelers are currently the six seed in the AFC, but there are many other suitors for the AFC’s final playoff spot.
Number 15: Philadelphia Eagles (ELO: 1527,-4)
The Eagles get a softball as Miami comes up on the schedule. They have a series of easy victories plus a game at home against the Cowboys. Somehow, the Eagles would control their destiny with regards to making the playoffs if the Cowboys slip up again.
Number 14: Los Angeles Rams (ELO: 1531, -2)
That was a catastrophe. The Rams have likely kissed the playoffs goodbye after a pitiful performance at home against the Ravens. As talented as the Ravens are, the Rams had no reason to lose by 39 at home.
Number 13: Tennessee Titans (ELO: 1536, +3)
A win over the Colts would make a world of difference for the Titans as they have a tough finish to the schedule with the Raiders, Texans, Saints, and Texans again. With the Texans likely to lose to the Patriots on Sunday, the Titans could grab control of the AFC South with a stretch of wins.
Number 12: Green Bay Packers (ELO: 1538, -5)
The Packers received a sledgehammer to the face from the 49ers. While they will almost certainly make the playoffs, the Packers have gigantic defensive problems when they are not forcing turnovers.
Number 11: Buffalo Bills (ELO: 1541, +4)
The Bills are in a weird spot. They go flying up the rankings purely because of other teams being incompetent. They have a chance to break into the top 10 with a win in Dallas.
Number 10: Indianapolis Colts (ELO: 1551, +3)
Yes, the Colts lost. However, they are strong beneficiaries of the Packers, Rams, and Eagles being atrocious. The Colts are in the thick of a playoff race, but they desperately need the Steelers and Raiders to lose.
Number 9: Dallas Cowboys (ELO: 1593, +0)
The Cowboys were quiet offensively, but they have an opportunity to break their streak of not beating winning teams as the Bills come to town.
Number 8: Houston Texans (ELO: 1600, +2)
The Texans had a close win over the Colts at home. Deshaun Watson gets to take on the NFL’s best secondary (New England) next week, so the Texans could move up in the future.
Number 7: Minnesota Vikings (ELO: 1620, +1)
With the Packers imploding, the Vikings have stepped up into the highest-ranked NFC North team. While I do not trust Kirk Cousins in the playoffs, the Vikings are practically a lock to have a bid.
Number 6: Kansas City Chiefs (ELO: 1672, +0)
The Chiefs were on a bye week. Coming off the bye, the Chiefs will meet the Raiders at home with the de facto AFC West championship up for grabs. The Chiefs need to wake up offensively.
Number 5: Seattle Seahawks (ELO: 1732, +0)
The Seahawks played a dominant defensive game against the Eagles. While Russell Wilson was not up to his usual tricks, the Seahawks rolled to a ninth victory.
Number 4: New Orleans Saints (ELO: 1833, +0)
The Saints did not look like world-beaters on Sunday, but they were the superior team, and they were unlikely to only win by three points.
Number 3: San Francisco 49ers (ELO: 1845, +1)
The 49ers clobbered the Packers. They have established themselves as the class of the NFC both offensively and defensively. When fully healthy, the 49ers are a serious threat to go all the way to the Super Bowl.
Number 2: New England Patriots (ELO: 1870, -1)
The Patriots narrowly slip from the top spot with a gutsy win over the Cowboys. The defense is fantastic, but the offense has been terrible over the last few games.
Number 1: Baltimore Ravens (ELO: 1872, +2)
The Ravens have strung together seven consecutive wins, and the defense has improved to be one of the best units in the NFL. The Ravens couple a historically great offense with tremendous defense. Is it Super Bowl time in Baltimore?
