Pickard’s Sunday Picks: Week 12

There is an exciting slate of 12 games on Sunday. Here are final score predictions for all of the Week 10 Sunday contests, with reasoning.

Keep track of my “Sunday Score” all season long. This weighted formula gives me five points for every correct outcome. For every team whose score I predict exactly correct, I get an additional three points. Here’s how I’ve fared so far:

Sunday Score: 472

Winner/Loser picked correctly: 80/137

Week 11

Seattle Seahawks 24, Philadelphia Eagles 17

The Eagles proved to be a challenge for the AFC’s best team, the Patriots, and they’ll do the same against the NFC’s best team this week. However, the Seahawks are just too good and will be able to secure a victory.

Denver Broncos 17, Buffalo Bills 13

The Broncos challenged the Vikings last week and choked away a massive lead before failing to convert on multiple game-winning touchdown attempts. They should be able to emerge victorious over a Bills team that has benefitted from an easy schedule.

New York Giants 13, Chicago Bears 17

This is going to be an extremely sloppy game between an inexperienced Daniel Jones and a suddenly-terrible Mitchell Trubisky. Chicago’s defense will secure the edge for them in this one.

Pittsburgh Steelers 17, Cincinnati Bengals 21

The Bengals will get their first win of the season as Pittsburgh struggles with the injuries to JuJu Smith-Schuster and James Conner. It’ll be a sloppy win, but a win nonetheless for the Bengals.

Miami Dolphins 26, Cleveland Browns 24

The Dolphins have been playing some really solid football as of late, and I just don’t have enough faith to give the Browns the win in this one. However, it’s quite possible they could pull it off. Only time will tell.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers 10, Atlanta Falcons 27

The change in play-calling duties for the Falcons seems to have been the difference-maker. Imagine what this team could’ve done if they made the decision sooner. They’ll demolish the Bucs in their third consecutive divisional matchup.

Carolina Panthers 28, New Orleans Saints 27

The Panthers almost beat the Green Bay Packers a few weeks ago. Now, after a tough loss to the red-hot Falcons, this explosive Carolina offense should take advantage of a struggling New Orleans secondary.

Detroit Lions 27, Washington Redskins 10

Another week, another Washington loss. Jeff Driskel will pad his stats with a pair of passing touchdowns and at least 300 passing yards.

Oakland Raiders 17, New York Jets 24

The Jets over the Raiders? Yup! This New York team has played some great football lately, and newly-extended tight end Ryan Griffin will find the end zone twice, being the difference-maker in this clash against an Oakland team that cannot shut down tight ends.

Jacksonville Jaguars 20, Tennessee Titans 27

The Jaguars will secure an early lead in this should-be-close divisional matchup, but the Titans will pull closer before securing a game-winning touchdown in the final minutes of the fourth quarter.

Dallas Cowboys 22, New England Patriots 21

How’s this for a bold (and very specific) prediction? The Patriots will miss a field goal in the final minutes that would’ve given them a two-possession lead, and the Cowboys will drive down the field, find the end zone, and complete a game-winning two-point conversion. Ezekiel Elliott will run wild in this rainy contest.

Green Bay Packers 21, San Francisco 49ers 20

The 49ers had a narrow lead over the Cardinals before a pointless garbage-time score gave them a two-possession lead. One week earlier, they lost to the Seahawks. They’ll play good football but fall short against the Packers.

2024 NFL Bold Predictions: AFC West

The AFC West had little to talk about beyond the Kansas City Chiefs. The Los Angeles Charges have been the next closest team to make something happen, but they inevitably fall short. The Denver Broncos have been what some might call a dumpster fire or a QB carousel, and the Las Vegas Raiders have been…well…Raidering.
