According to a report from the New York Daily News, the New York Jets’ leadership has become “divided” as it pertains to the team’s interest in signing free agent running back Le’Veon Bell.
There’s a general feeling in the building that Bell is worth pursuing only to a certain point. In other words, the Jets do not want to break the bank and fork over what Bell evidently wants: $15-16 million per year.
The team has also become concerned that Bell could use their negotiations as leverage to get a deal done with another team. As memory serves us, quarterback Kirk Cousins used the Jets in similar fashion a year ago to ultimately sign with the Minnesota Vikings.
