Patriots Activate Fullback off Practice Squad

A New England Patriots rookie is finally getting his shot.

Fullback Jakob Johnson has reportedly been promoted from the practice squad to the active roster prior to tomorrow’s game against the New York Jets.

Johnson, 24, has presumably been promoted to fill the void left by James Develin who is dealing with a neck injury.

The rookie played his college ball at the University of Tennessee before playing overseas in his home country of Germany for the Stuttgart Scorpions.

He was able to get to the NFL via the league’s International Pathway Program and spent the entire summer trying to make the Patriots’ roster.

His stay on the active roster is likely temporary as the team will likely waive him when Develin is healthy enough to play.
