After hitting two home runs Tuesday night, Alex Bregman has now set an Astros record with 12 in the month of May.
Bregman has hit multiple big flies in three of his 27 games played this month. In addition to the one on Tuesday, he’s drilled multiple on the fourth & 12th of May as well.

Although his batting average is only at .271, the 25-year-old is one of four players leading the American League in home runs, racking up 17. Tied with Eddie Rosario, Gary Sanchez, and his fellow teammate whom is now on the injured list, George Springer.
Along with the other home run hitter, Springer, several more key fielders are on the IL. Some names which include Max Stassi, Aledmys Diaz, Jose Altuve and Carlos Correa. That isn’t stopping this Houston team, thanks in large part to the man minding third base every night –– as they have won six of their last 10 games.
“I think you just have to control what you can control which is showing up everyday, trying to put together good at bats, trying to make good plays when the ball is hit your way,” Bregman told reporters when asked about being a leader.
He believes in this team and has stated various times his goal is to steal the World Series title back. “Take it Back” has been the motto for Houston this season, surely motivating the players.
The Astros won the World Series back in 2017, and seemed destined to do so again last year before running into the mighty Boston Red Sox. With them seeming to be unfazed my this wave of injuries, it makes them that much more favorited to reclaim their crown.
As the All-Star ballot is now open, make sure to head over and vote. Alex and the Astros have been putting on an exceptional show and it’s not one that should go unrecognized.
