The trade deadline is approaching quickly and reports are saying that Tyreke Evans has a good chance of being a trade target for the Boston Celtics.

Boston was given an $8.4 million Disabled Player Exception after the injury to All-Star Gordon Hayward. Evans is currently on a one year contract worth $3.29 million and is playing some great basketball, which is what makes him such an attractive target.
So far this season, Evans has put up 19.4 points, 5.1 rebounds, and five assists over 32.1 minutes per game. His scoring has only been higher once, and it was during his rookie campaign in 2009 when he won Rookie of the Year while playing 37 minutes a game with the Sacramento Kings.
Unfortunately, the University of Memphis product has had a career plagued with injuries. In his three previous seasons, he played in a total of just 65 games.
If healthy, the 6-foot-6 guard would provide exactly what is most needed right now for the Celtics; someone to score when Kyrie Irving sits.
The Memphis Grizzlies are stuck in the bottom of the Western Conference, and their best chance of getting out is to trade away pieces such as Evans for picks and young players to start the rebuilding process.
The Celtics, of course, have a surplus in both of those categories and need a player like Evans to come off the bench. I wouldn’t be surprised at all to see Danny Ainge to give up one of their young players such as Semi Ojeleye or Abdel Nader and package them with an upcoming first round pick.
Due to their plethora of picks to bargain with, the Boston Celtics can make a great offer without giving up too much, and get a huge piece in return.
