New Celtic Makes Debut Against Lakers

On Saturday, the Boston Celtics announced that they would be picking up 6-foot-7 forward Jarell Eddie and signing him to a 10-day contract.

Prior to the signing, he was a member of the Windy City Bulls in the NBA G League. This move filled up the empty roster spot that has stuck with the Celtics throughout the season.

The 26-year-old dressed and played for the first time in Tuesday’s matchup against the Los Angeles Lakers while sporting No. 9.

The sharpshooter only saw four minutes of action and grabbed one board in that time period.

Although Jarell didn’t exactly fill up the stat sheet, he was able to affect shot attempts, make smart passes, and his only shot attempt was a high percentage look.

Again, none of these things will show in the box score, but hopefully, Eddie can eventually find his role under head coach Brad Stevens’ offense. Having someone to consistently provide a spark off the bench is a primary concern if the Celtics plan on remaining contenders.
