It’s week four and that means it’s the start of the bye weeks. The only two teams on a bye this week are the New York Jets and the San Francisco 49ers. With bye weeks here, finding good streamers is even more important. Here are some options to replace your starting QB, TE, D/ST, and kicker this week.
Looking for players to grab off the waiver wire? You can find that here.
The rostered percentages I present in this are pulled from ESPN Fantasy.
QB – Mason Rudolph – 12.5% Rostered
With Ben Roethlisberger lost for the season, the new Steelers quarterback scored a solid 14.5 fantasy points against an improved San Francisco defense. This week presents a home matchup against the Bengals who have allowed an average of 27 points per game so far to opposing quarterbacks.
QB – Gardner Minshew– 5.2% Rostered
The sixth-round pick has been surprisingly serviceable after being thrust into the starting role after Nick Foles went down. He has thrown at least 200 yards within the first three weeks along with 5 TDs and 1 INT. Mile High City will provide a tough test, but there are worse options.
QB – Daniel Jones – 14.6% Rostered
The Giants benched Eli Manning as Jones drew the week three start and New York fans saw an immediate impact. The rookie threw for 336 yards and 2 TDs as well as two rushing TDs. Jones is trying to prove all the haters wrong and he should continue to put up good numbers at home against Washington.
TE – Will Dissly – 27.3% Rostered
After suffering a knee injury in week one, Dissly returned with a combined 11 catches and 3 TDs over the last two games. He has emerged as a legit target option for Russell Wilson, second on the team behind Tyler Lockett. Week four presents a favorable matchup with the Cardinals, who have surrendered 319 yards and five touchdowns to opposing tight ends this season.
TE – Vernon Davis – 13.2% Rostered
There’s word from Washington that Jordan Reed could potentially retire after suffering his seventh career concussion. In the meantime, Davis has been average, having a low ceiling but will produce mediocre to solid numbers.
TE – Demetrius Harris – 1.6% Rostered
With David Njoku landing on injured reserve, Harris figures to have an expanded receiving role. Even with a low target share, he was still on the field for 90% of Cleveland’s snaps. This option is a bit of a stretch, but his snap count suggests the opportunity is there for the taking.
D/ST – Indianapolis Colts – 20.9% Rostered
While the Colts have been prone to giving up a lot of points this season, the positive side is that they have achieved eight sacks through three weeks. Week four brings a very favorable home matchup against turnover prone Derek Carr and a weak offensive line.
D/ST – Carolina Panthers – 25.5% Rostered
Since including the Panthers in my week two streamers, they have scored 21 combined fantasy points. A whopping total of 12 sacks this season should only continue to increase against one of the worst offensive lines in the league. Deshaun Watson is the most sacked quarterback in the league and should see more pressure from a good Carolina pass rush.
D/ST – Pittsburgh Steelers – 15.7% Rostered
The general consensus seems to be that people are shying away from the Steelers D/ST. I’m going to take out the outlier against New England in week one and focus on the five takeaways since. With a juicy matchup at Heinz field against division rival, Cincinnati, I expect a solid performance against an atrocious Bengals offense that lacks any weapons.
K – Josh Lambo– 2.9% Rostered
Currently ranked third at the kicker position, averaging 8.3 fantasy points, Lambo is available in 97% of leagues. He’s on an improving Jaguars offense, as well as 100% accuracy on six field-goal attempts this season.
