There is more than meets the eye when perusing through each team’s schedule. It is not just about looking for unmissable games against the top teams from the previous season. There is always more.
Are there any lengthy home-stands, unusual road trips, or strange coincidences?
Let us see and find out.
Golden State Warriors
Gathering air miles at the start. The Warriors only play five times at home in their first 17 games. That includes a six-game, nine-day road trip that will take them from Oklahoma to Florida. At least the month of January will be kind to them in terms of home-court advantage.
Los Angeles Clippers
All eyes will be on Los Angeles this coming Feb. 15 as the city hosts the annual NBA All-Star Game. Expect the Intuit Dome and owner Steve Ballmer to be trending topics. Whether it is about the All-Star festivities or that salary-cap controversy, people will be talking about the Clippers no matter what.
The Clippers were 3-13 on open threes last night (defender 4-6 feet away) AND 3-13 on WIDE OPEN threes last night (defender 6+ feet away)
6-26 on open to wide open threes is uh, a very bad shooting night. https://t.co/EVjQrBedUP

Los Angeles Lakers
Where do we start? This is, after all, the most popular franchise that employs the most popular player in LeBron James. With the possibility of James playing in his last season, every game now becomes a highlight in any calendar. Those last few home games in April are going to be the hottest tickets in town.
Phoenix Suns
Do the schedule makers know something we don’t? Clearly, something came up when they decided to schedule three Suns-Clippers matchups in the first 10 games, right? Or maybe all of this is just a coincidence? Anyway, fans can treat this like a mini-playoff series — a three-game series early in the season.
Sacramento Kings
Mid-January should bring about some exciting, dramatic times. James comes to town in what could be his only chance to play in Sacramento since he is expected to miss the first one due to injury. Next up is a matchup against their former coach, Mike Brown, who now heads the New York Knicks.
