After the much-needed NBA All-Star Break, the race for the postseason is on every fan’s mind. We have at least six weeks to track those up-and-down movements in the NBA standings before the Play-In Tournament starts.
Are your favorite teams going to make the cut?
We check out teams that are hovering around that all-important 10th spot and see what their schedule is like.
Phoenix Suns
Surprising, isn’t it? The Suns being this far down in the standings should make us scratch our heads. To make things worse, they have a lot of strong teams to play from now until the end of the regular season. One thing to look out for is a stretch in March with eight consecutive games against Western Conference teams.
Sacramento Kings
The team will have a seven-game homestand somewhere down the road. The bad news is that a six-game road trip will await them right after that. Additionally, the last three games of their season will be against the Denver Nuggets, Los Angeles Clippers, and Phoenix Suns. Resting their star players in the end won’t be an option.
Western Conference standings after tonight:
6. Clippers (32-27)
7. Warriors (32-28)
8. Kings (31-28)
9. Wolves (32-29)
10. Mavs (32-29)
11. Suns (28-32)The Sacramento Kings are 0.5 games behind the 7th seeded Warriors and 1.0 games behind the 6th seeded Clippers.

Dallas Mavericks
Trading away Luka Doncic and getting Anthony Davis, who immediately got injured, changes everything. Kyrie Irving is all alone until Davis gets back. Yes, they have Klay Thompson, but he isn’t the Thompson that we used to know. Dallas has to start rallying now because 11 of its last 17 games will be on the road.
Chicago Bulls
The Bulls will face around the same number of weak teams and well-built teams. The madness comes in March when only five out of their 15 games will be played inside United Center. That includes a six-game trip out in the Western Conference. At least their schedule becomes lighter once April comes around.
Philadelphia 76ers
The Sixers cannot seem to gain momentum. If this trend continues, they could miss the postseason. Things aren’t looking that bright, either, as they have to go through a 12-game span with only two contests at home. Like the Suns out in the West, Philadelphia’s squad has been a disappointing team this season.

Brooklyn Nets
Brooklyn’s fans are just hoping that the Bulls will keep losing. If that happens, their chances of entering the Play-In Tournament will dramatically increase. Looking ahead, the team has to be happy knowing that their upcoming schedule is a balanced mix of short road trips and short homestands.
