The Miami Dolphins, during Week 3, put up 70 points on the Denver Broncos. This week, Miami would take on their division rival, the Buffalo Bills. The Bills outright crushed a team that scored 70 points the week before. Therefore, the Bills are the team of the week and the team to beat in a weak AFC (compared to last year).
Josh Allen Taught a Masterclass in QB Play
Josh Allen went 21-of-25 for 320 yards, 17 rushing yards, and five touchdowns (including one rushing TD). Josh had more touchdowns than incompletions. Allen also had a perfect passer rating of 158.3. Allen joins a list of Ben Rothlisberger, Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Lamar Jackson, Kurt Warner, Craig Morton, Dave Krieg, and Ken O’Brien, who have all had perfect passer ratings in their careers. On top of Josh having a fantastic day, he was benched in the 4th Quarter (Kyle Allen took Josh Allen’s place).
Diggs Does Diggs Things
Stefon Diggs had a day with six receptions for 120 yards (a yard average of 20) and three touchdowns. Stefon also had a Stone Cold Steve Austin celebration (but now Diggs owes that fan $20 for those beers).
The Rest of the TDs
Gabriel Davis had a great game with three receptions for 61 yards and one touchdown. James Cook had his first career touchdown. Cook had 12 carries for 29 yards. The Bills finally did something they had not done in a few years. They committed to the run game. Lataivs Murry led the team in rushing yards with four rushes for 32 yards.
Buffalo Bills’ Defense Suffocated the #1 Scoring Offense
Matt Milano led the team in solo tackles with eight. He also assisted on a fumble. Micah Hyde was able to pick off Tua Tagovailoa with the solo interception of the game. The Bills were missing a key defensive player in Jordan Poyer. Now, they will probably be missing Tre’Davious White for several games. Buffalo’s defense held Tyreek Hill to three catches for 58 yards and 14 yards of rushing (during the Denver game, Hill had nine catches for 157 yards and one touchdown).
What’s Next?
The Buffalo Bills will be heading to London to Take on Trevor Lawrence and the Jacksonville Jaguars at 9:30 a.m. EST on Sunday. Yes, another 12+ hour NFL day, isn’t it exciting?
