MLB DFS 6/11: Six-Pack Saturday

Good morning to all my fellow MLB DFS players out there on this Saturday that features 16 games. We have a number of solid options for our lineups for each slate on DraftKings. Let’s open up our six-pack and enjoy a full day of baseball while trying to make some cash.

On The Hill

Jordan Montgomery ($7,600) vs. Chicago Cubs

Every starter in the Yankees’ rotation has been having a solid season, leading to them having the best record in the majors. That includes Montgomery, who is only 1-1 despite not surrendering more than three runs in all 11 of his starts and going at least five innings in nine of them. The southpaw has also struck out five batters in five of those starts and walked more than two in just one start when he walked three. Over the first two months of the season, he holds a 3.02 ERA and 1.01 WHIP over 59 2/3 innings. Montgomery faces a Cubs lineup that managed just one run against Luis Severino and the Yankees’ bullpen last night. They may not be the most favorable matchup but are in the middle of the pack in a number of offensive categories and the Yankees’ left-hander is pitching well.

Zack Wheeler ($10,100) vs. Arizona Diamondbacks

After starting the season out slow, Wheeler has started to get rolling as he has produced quality starts in each of his last four starts and six of his last seven. In the six quality starts, he produced over 20 fantasy points, a 1.61 ERA of 1.61, a strikeout rate of 32.0 percent, and a 1.03 WHIP. He faces a Diamondbacks lineup that strikes out a lot, striking out the fourth-most in the majors against right-handers at 25 percent.

Other options: Kevin Gausman ($10,300), Zach Plesac ($6,500), Framber Valdez ($8,900)

In the Infield

Manny Machado ($5,400)

Why not ride the hot hand? Machado was one of our homer calls for yesterday’s four-bagger Friday and he went yard. The third baseman is on a tear over the last couple of games, recording two hits and 14 or more MLB DFS fantasy points in each of them. He and the Padres will be facing rookie right-hander Ryan Feltner who is getting called up for the start. In his last start against the Atlanta Braves, Feltner surrendered six runs on seven hits and a walk while recording -4.7 fantasy points. He also has given up three homers in four starts so far.

Rhys Hoskins ($3,900)

Let’s ride another hot hand, as Hoskins is hitting .300 with four homers over his last six games. He went 3-for-4 with two homers against the Diamondbacks last night. Madison Bumgarner has given up nine of his ten homers to right-handers this season. The left-hander has given up a higher wOBA and slugging against opposite-handed batters in his career.

In the Outfield

Yordan Alvarez ($6,300)

Alvarez is another hot bat, hitting .513 with five homers and 13 RBI in the last ten games. He hits lefties good enough and is facing a rookie making his second start, Braxton Garrett. Alvarez has six hits over the last two games and Garrett gave up four runs in just 3 1/3 innings against the Giants in his debut.

Hunter Renfroe ($3,800)

Since coming off the injured list on Tuesday, Renfroe has mashed one homer and gets a favorable matchup against Patrick Corbin. Corbin has a 2-8 record and a 6.71 ERA and has given up less than three runs just once since April 17. Renfroe also has a 191 wRC+ against left-handers this season. The Nationals’ southpaw is one of the worst pitchers in the league right now.

Good luck with all your MLB DFS lineups today.
