Chances for England at the World Cup in Qatar

England World Cup

The last England World Cup title win was over 55 years ago. Over the decades, they have solidified themselves as a team that has the talent but lacks the mentality to win it all. It is fair to say that they’ve also been unlucky too many times. However, England arguably has its strongest team ever. They have an overwhelming amount of talent, but seem to lack the the winning mentality, largely because they still cannot pull through at the most crucial moment.

Last summer, the English club came close to winning their first European championship. They would eventually lose to Italy in the Euro 2020 Final on penalties. The fact that they lost at home at Wembley Stadium only adds salt to that painful wound. The Three Lions are determined to end their title drought and prove that they can be world champions again.

What Will it Take for England to Win it All?

England’s first objective is to top the group, which should not be a problem. They are the overwhelming favorite to win their group, which also includes the United States, Iran, and either Wales or Ukraine. Regardless, England should not take their opponents lightly, as it could very well lead to a downfall, which has happened to them many times before.

The Three Lions can only win with teamwork and team chemistry. If England has those two qualities, they’ll find what they need more than anything; a winning mentality. Honestly, this year, England has its best chance to win it all. They can’t afford to waste it. It all starts with positive and convincing results in the group stage.

The knockout stage is never easy for any national team. That’s where the pressure dramatically increases. England is known for succumbing to pressure and ultimately falling. The Three Lions need to play hard and well enough to counter the immense pressure. The better they play, the more pressure they can lift off their shoulders. In addition, if they can play well, they can do what’s most important; win.
