Colts to Start Former Patriots Backup Jacoby Brissett Against Cardinals

It didn’t take long for Jacoby Brissett to get his chance as the Indianapolis Colts will give the second year man the reins in Sunday’s matchup against the Arizona Cardinals.

The team is choosing to make the change after taking a massive beating at the hands of the Los Angeles Rams in Week No.1 49-6.

Quarterback Scott Tolzien was not able to add any form of consistency to the offense with two interceptions returned for touchdowns and ending with a quarterback rating of 33.8.

Colts quarterback Andrew Luck is still ailing from a shoulder injury and will not be seen on the field until at least late in the season.

Brissett made his debut as a starter in the third game of the 2014 season during Tom Brady’s four-game suspension becoming the first rookie Patriots quarterback to start a game since Drew Bledsoe in 1993.

The Colts hope the NC State alum can turn the ship around and show some of the magic he exhibited during the preseason.
