Derrick Henry Named Offensive Player of the Year

Derrick Henry

Running for over 2,000 yards is absurd, but Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry made it look easy. The big-bodied workhorse took home his first career Offensive Player of the Year award on Saturday evening.

After signing a contract extension last offseason, Henry returned to Nashville and became a nightmare for opposing defenses. His physical, bruising style of play made headlines (and memes) once again this year as he obliterated players like Josh Norman and Alex Myres. Outside of the eye test, Henry proved himself on the stat sheets. For the second straight year, he led the NFL in both carries and rushing yards. He posted a total of 2,141 scrimmage yards while adding a whopping 17 scores on the ground and 126.7 yards per game (both NFL-bests).

While some running backs quiet down in their late 20s, Henry shows no signs of stopping, much to the disappointment of the other 31 teams. Look for the Alabama product to be an unstoppable force once again as the Titans aim for another playoff run next season.
