The big game is officially upon us and as always there are plenty of ways to make money. Whether it be squares, prop bets, or daily fantasy you can pretty much do it all. Today we will focus on daily fantasy and the Super Bowl matchup is as good as it gets. It’s a battle of old school vs. new school. The greatest of all-time vs. the next great quarterback. The Kansas City Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes will head into Raymond James Stadium to face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Tom Brady. The Buccaneers will be making history as the first team to make the Super Bowl when it is being played at their home stadium. Let’s jump right into the top players for this Super Bowl showdown.

Cash Plays
Patrick Mahomes (DK $12,000 | FD $16,500)
Mahomes will look to win his second Super Bowl in a row after leading the Chiefs to the promised land last season. He threw a couple of interceptions in last year’s game but was able to score three touchdowns and put his team on top. Mahomes will likely be the highest-owned player on the slate. He lit up the Buccaneers defense back in week 12. He threw for 462 yards and three touchdowns in that game and did most of the damage in the first half. The Bucs defense has been playing better of late and forcing turnovers in the playoffs. However, Mahomes is on a different level and the Buccaneers will struggle to slow him down. Look for him to have another big fantasy day in the Super Bowl. – Brandon
Tyreek Hill (DK $10,400 | FD $14,000)
Hill has shown how elite he really is in the Chiefs’ two playoff games this season. On the road to the Super Bowl, he put up 282 yards on 17 receptions. There’s no reason he should not be able to keep that up in the Super bowl. Especially considering he torched the Buccaneers secondary earlier this season. In that game, he caught 13 passes for 269 yards and three touchdowns. It’s not very likely that he can replicate that historic performance but he will still be among the top fantasy scorers. – Brandon
Tom Brady ($10,000 DK, $15,000 FD)
I don’t know if we need much analysis here. Isn’t Brady the GOAT or something like that? Super Bowls were designed for him. If you’re playing in cash games, getting each of the quarterbacks in your lineup is a solid strategy. They both should put up their fair share of yards and touchdowns. The last time these two teams met, Brady threw two interceptions but also threw for 345 yards and three touchdowns. Mr. Goat loves to spread the ball around, so playing him over one of his receiving options in cash games, gives you the highest floor. – Joey
Another Option: Travis Kelce
GPP
Chris Godwin (DK $8,800 | FD $12,000)
Godwin led the Buccaneers wide receivers in yards against the Chiefs in their matchup in week 12. The Chiefs defense has also allowed slot receivers to do some damage against them in the playoffs. Last game against the Buffalo Bills, Cole Beasley was able to catch seven passes for 88 yards. In their first game against the Cleveland Browns Jarvis Landry only had 20 receiving yards but had seven catches and a touchdown. Godwin’s up next and with a lot of the focus geared toward Mike Evans, Godwin should be able to feast. – Brandon
Sammy Watkins ($4,200 DK, $6,500 FD)
Watkins always seems to be dealing with some sort of injury and hasn’t played a single playoff game this season. He’s expected to return to the lineup after not having any setbacks this week in practice. In his Kansas City Chiefs playoff career, he’s averaged 4.8 catches and 92.8 receiving yards per game. He has only caught two touchdowns all season and we have no idea what his role will be today. That’s why I absolutely love taking a chance on him in tournaments. One bomb from Mahomes is all it takes for him to hit value. – Joey
Another Option: Antonio Brown
Dart Throw
Ronald Jones II (DK $2,200 | FD $8,000)
With Leonard Fournette taking over as the Buccaneers main running back, that has pushed Jones to the side. However, he will still get some carries and he has a great chance to break the slate. He’s an excellent dart throw, especially at the Captain spot. At his price, you have plenty of flexibility to play both quarterbacks and still afford some top skill players. Jones has breakaway speed and the ability to get some chunk yards on a big run. He showed that speed earlier this season with a league-high 98-yard rushing touchdown. Even though he only had 16 rushing yards last week, he did have ten carries. Jones should be right around double-digit carries again this week. Especially, with him going up against a Chiefs defense that has allowed 121 rush yards per game this season and eight runs over 20 yards. Jones should be able to break out a couple of runs for some chunk yards and potentially have a big day. – Brandon
Rob Gronkowski ($3,000 DK, $5,500 FD)
Cameron Brate missed Friday’s practice due to a back injury that he tweaked on Thursday. He’s expected to play, but back injuries can be fickle. After doing a deeper dive, I was surprised to find out that Gronk has run more routes than Brate in the playoffs (57-44). It’s felt like Gronk has been held in and playing more of a blocking role, which is true. But not to the extent I thought. However, when Brate is on the field, he’s running routes at a higher clip than Gronk is when he is on the field, and he has been targeted far more. The Super Bowl has a funny way of generating unlikely heroes. At this stage of his career, Gronk isn’t likely to be a big factor. However, he’s played in four Super Bowls. In those games, he has 23 catches for 297 yards and three touchdowns. Gronk at low ownership could be a great move. – Joey
Another Option: Ryan Succop
