NFL DFS: Saturday Divisional Round Matchups

NFL DFS: Saturday Divisional Round Matchups

Super wild-card weekend is in the books and now it is time for the divisional round games. We kick things off on Saturday with a two-game slate. The first game will be the Los Angeles Rams (11-6) going into Lambeau Field to face the top-seeded Green Bay Packers (13-3). That game will be followed by the Baltimore Ravens (12-5) heading into Buffalo to face the Bills (14-3).

Let’s jump right into some top GPP, cash plays, and a dart throw for Saturday’s games.

GPP Players

John Brown (DK $4,600 | FD $5,500)

Brown disappointed a lot of people last week, including me. However, he still played almost all of the snaps as the wide receiver two, opposite of Stefon Diggs. Brown has the most to benefit this week based on the matchup. Diggs will likely be guarded by Marcus Peters and Marlon Humphrey will end up on Cole Beasley in the slot. Josh Allen has a big arm and can throw deep even if there are high winds. Look for them to take some shots deep to Brown in this game.

Robert Tonyan (DK $4,200 | FD $6,200)

Outside of Mark Andrews, every tight end on the Saturday only slate is touchdown or bust. The good news is Tonyan led the league in touchdowns. He also was able to find the end zone in six of his last seven regular-season games. The Rams have a great defense and only allowed 19 passing touchdowns all season, but seven of those went to tight ends. With Jalen Ramsey shadowing Davante Adams, Aaron Rodgers is going to have to look elsewhere in the red zone. Tonyan has a great shot to continue finding the end zone in Saturday’s game.

Cash Players

Lamar Jackson (DK $7,600 | FD $8,000)

Jackson was able to pick up his first playoff victory on Sunday. This week against the Bills will be a tough test for Jackson and the Ravens. However, the Bills’ weakness has been against the run this season. They are a bottom-six defense in terms of rushing touchdowns allowed. The weather is also shaping up perfectly for the Ravens. They are a run-first football team going against a pass-first team in potential snow and high wind gusts. That should benefit Jackson, as he looks to continue the dynamic play he displayed last week against Tennessee.

Cam Akers (DK $5,700 | FD $7,000)

Akers saw 28 carries last week as the Rams were able to upset the Seattle Seahawks. With John Wolford out for Saturday’s game, Jared Goff will be truth to the starting position. The good news is the Packer’s run defense has struggled this season. The bad news is the Packers can stack the box without worrying about Goff burning them downfield. His thumb will not be much better than it was last week when he threw for only 155 yards on 9/19 passing. That puts Akers in line for even more work as he will be heavily leaned on in this matchup.

Mark Andrews (DK $5,000 | FD $6,600)

The wide receivers on the Saturday slate all have some tough matchups. Playing two tight ends might be a solid play. If you opt to go with one tight end (especially in cash), Andrews has the biggest upside and the highest floor. Last week the Bills struggled to stop the Indianapolis Colts’ tight ends. They allowed 136 total yards and one touchdown in that game. When Jackson drops back to pass Andrews is one of his favorite targets. If Tre’Davious White can slow down Hollywood Brown then Andrews is going to be the main source in the passing attack.

Dart Throw

Gus Edwards (DK $4,200 | FD $5,300)

As mentioned, the Ravens are a run-first football team. Even though J.K. Dobbins has been the featured back, Edwards has still been able to get some work. Last week against the Tennessee Titans he saw eight carries. Edwards’s upside depends on his ability to find the end zone. Edwards is definitely a dart throw being the backup running back but with the Ravens rushing upside he comes in at a good price and plenty of potential.
