Fantasy Football Buy and Sell Advice: Week 10

Fantasy Football Buy and Sell Advice: Week 10

As the playoff picture starts to come into focus for most leagues, here are some players you should look to buy and sell heading into Week 10.

Quarterback

Buy

Tom Brady

Brady played arguably the worst game of his career Sunday night. There’s no positive way to spin it, the Saints dominated Tampa Bay in all aspects of the game. On the bright side, that likely won’t happen again. This Buccaneers team is still great — they just had an off night. With the insertion of Antonio Brown into the lineup, Brady has the best receiving corps of his career to work with. He will likely bounce back in a big way next week, so now is the perfect time to buy low.

Sell

Josh Allen

Allen made the “Sell” category after Week 8, but he earned it once again this week after a dominant performance against an abysmal Seattle secondary. This cannot be stressed enough: Allen’s playoff schedule is incredibly hard, and every quarterback dominates the Seahawks. This is the ideal chance to sell him high, don’t miss it.

Running Back

Buy

James Conner

Conner (and the entire Steelers offense) came out flat and were met with a surprising fight from the Cowboys. As a result, Pittsburgh had to abandon the run to put together a comeback, and Conner was not part of that plan. It’s only the second time he’s carried the ball less than 10 times in a game this season, and I wouldn’t expect it to happen again. Running the ball is a staple of the Steelers’ offense, and with Ben Roethlisberger banged up they’ll likely lean on Conner to carry the load. He’s a solid low-end RB1 for the rest of the season.

Sell

Jerick McKinnon

In Raheem Mostert’s absence, McKinnon has racked up back-to-back 13+ point games. With Mostert primed to return over the next couple of weeks, McKinnon will likely be relegated to a small change-of-pace role. Since this is the case, look to sell him high while you can. The shifty receiving back will still have rest-of-season value, just not as much as he does now.

Wide Receiver

Buy

Adam Thielen

Dalvin Cook has been on an absolute tear, scoring 39+ in each of his last two games. As a result, the Vikings haven’t had to throw the ball much to win. That likely won’t be the case this week, as Minnesota is set to take on a Bears defense that just shut down Derrick Henry. Buy Thielen with the expectation that he’ll reclaim his WR1 status over the next few games.

Sell

D.J. Chark

Aside from a huge Week 4 performance, Chark’s season has been relatively disappointing. He finally broke out again on Sunday, catching seven balls for 146 yards and a touchdown. Chark demonstrated surprising chemistry with backup quarterback Jake Luton, but don’t expect that hot streak to last long. Jacksonville’s offense is far too inconsistent to count on Chark as a reliable fantasy asset. Look to sell high before he inevitably comes down to earth again.

Tight End

Buy

Jared Cook

Rookie Adam Trautman stole the show Sunday night against the Buccaneers, while Cook was held to just two catches for 30 yards. While this may look like a changing of the guard, the Saints had clinched this game by the second quarter. They could afford to give Cook some rest and opt to give the rookie a chance. Make no mistake, the veteran is still the tight end to own in New Orleans, and he has boom potential on a weekly basis in that high-octane offense. If you’re thin at TE, look to bolster your corps with Cook.

Sell

Evan Engram

This was the Engram breakout game we’d all been waiting for. Now, sell him before he busts again. He looks extremely dynamic and talented on the field, but there’s one problem: His hands are atrocious. While he has no problem getting open, catching the ball is a different story. The Giants are too volatile to trust on a consistent basis, so sell Engram while his value is relatively high.

Week 11 in the NFL brought more chaos, with at least five games on Sunday being decided by a single score. Notably, the Green Bay Packers and Indianapolis Colts won their games by just one point. As a result of their performance, the Buffalo Bills have earned the title of our NFL Team of the Week for the second time this season, having previously received this honor in Week 8.
