Corrigan’s Gambling Corner: College Football Week 9

Corrigan's Gambling Corner: College Football

Another week, another fantastic opportunity to make some money on college football. We had our first winning slate on Thursday in what seems like forever, so lets strike while the iron is hot and make some money this weekend.

2020 Record: 33-34

Ohio State (-11.5) vs. Penn State

Ohio State just has too much firepower for Penn State to keep up. The Nittany Lions are still a very good team, but the loss to Indiana last week juiced this line. Even if they were able to pull off the win, Ohio State would still be an eight or nine-point favorite. It doesn’t matter, especially if Justin Fields plays like he did last week.

Michigan State vs. Michigan (-21.5)

Michigan’s win over Minnesota is looking less impressive since the Gophers lost last night, but this Wolverines team is still very good. Joe Milton has the potential to be their best quarterback in a long time, and he showed why in their first game. Michigan State on the other hand… they have some rough years ahead.

Boston College vs. Clemson (-23.5)

This line dropped massively with the news of Trevor Lawrence‘s positive COVID-19 test. The shift in the line was expected but let’s not be fooled; Clemson’s second-string is much better than the starters for Boston College. We have seen some of D.J. Uiagalelei this season and he has shown flashes, but you can tell that he is still a freshman. He is Clemson’s future and he will have his first showcase today.

Mississippi State (+31) vs. Alabama

This is a lot of points to work with for a team that can score. Losing Jaylen Waddle for the season definitely hurts in the long run, but Alabama is too deep for them to suffer greatly. Alabama will absolutely win this game, but they have nothing to prove in the matchup, so look for some garbage time points from Mississippi State to cover.

Week 11 in the NFL brought more chaos, with at least five games on Sunday being decided by a single score. Notably, the Green Bay Packers and Indianapolis Colts won their games by just one point. As a result of their performance, the Buffalo Bills have earned the title of our NFL Team of the Week for the second time this season, having previously received this honor in Week 8.
