MLB DFS October 20: World Series Game 1

MLB DFS October 20

The abbreviated season is finally culminating in what 115 seasons previously have come to…the World Series. The history is great, but that is a subject for another article. Today, we want to win some cash. Let’s see how we can bulk up that bankroll with MLB DFS for October 20.

Captain

Manuel Margot ($8,100)

The idea here is to take someone with power upside and who is cheap enough to build the rest of your squad. Although Kevin Cash has switched up his lineups on a daily basis, Margot did lead off twice and batted sixth three times. He hit three homers in the ALCS and got on base in each of the seven games against the Houston Astros. While Margot doesn’t have a great history against Clayton Kershaw (5-22 with one double), he at least has seen the Dodgers lefty more than most of his teammates. Expect a solid floor with some power upside at a good price.

Utility

Mookie Betts ($9,800)

Here is where you can spend some money. Betts is 5-12 in his last three games and looks to be seeing the ball well. He is 3-9 off of Tyler Glasnow with a double and a couple of walks in his career. Ride the hot bat and with the money you saved on Margot you can spend some on Betts and…

Max Muncy ($8,800)

He is $400 cheaper than Cody Bellinger and has been batting cleanup. This is somewhat of an upside play as Muncy has as much pop as anyone but doesn’t put the ball in play as much. Of his 23 postseason hits, eight are HRs. He also sports a .391 OBP in October thanks to his 22.5% walk rate. The floor is decent for walks and runs, but the ceiling is where we are looking as Muncy is my Home Run Call tonight.

Value

Willy Adames ($6,200)

Even though Adames was only 2-14 against the Astros, he walked nine times in six games. Cash may look to have his shortstop bat higher in the lineup as well to take advantage of the OBP. Both of his hits were doubles as well so we know he can drive the ball. At this price, Adames is a good value play, especially in cash games.
