Fanelli’s Fave Five Bets for Thursday Night Football: Week 5

Allen Robinson

It’s Thursday, and that means we have football on tonight. The game is a good one as Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers head North to face Nick Foles and the Chicago Bears. This is the first matchup of former Super Bowl MVPs since they joined their new teams. For the team’s fan base and fantasy football players, they will have their eyes glued to the game, watching every play with the utmost attention. Meanwhile, for gamblers, their only rooting interest is whatever will lead to money in their pocket. However, which bets should they place for tonight’s game? Here are five bets gamblers should consider placing.

Be sure to place your bets with Jazz Sportsbook for the best odds and excellent promotions.

Allen Robinson Over 70.5 Receiving Yards (-112)

Aside from the fluky Week 2 matchup against the New York Giants, Robinson has at least 74 receiving yards in every game this season. More importantly, Robinson is averaging 112 receiving yards per game in the two games Foles has played. Robinson has seen at least nine targets in every game this season and is averaging 10.3 per game this season. Meanwhile, the Buccaneers have given up at least 135 receiving yards to wide receivers in each of their last three games despite not facing a star receiver like Robinson. Expect Robinson to have no trouble hitting the over before the middle of the fourth quarter.

Cameron Brate to Score an Anytime Touchdown (+375)

Unfortunately, O.J. Howard tore his Achilles, and his 2020 season is over. While Brate has played on just 11.6 percent of the snaps this season compared to 80.4 percent for Rob Gronkowski, Brate has a touchdown while Gronk doesn’t. Furthermore, Brate has only two targets this season compared to 14 for Gronkowski. If you think Gronk has a better chance to score tonight, you’re wrong. Despite playing on 80.4 percent of the snaps, Gronk is running a route just 42.4 of the time. Meanwhile, Brate has a career touchdown rate of 14.3 percent. With so many weapons out tonight, Brady is going to need to throw the ball to someone besides Mike Evans, and at almost 4-1 odds, Brate has a good chance of getting in the end zone.

Jimmy Graham Over 3.5 Receptions (+125)

Speaking of tight ends, Graham has turned back the clock this season. After scoring five touchdowns in two seasons in Green Bay, Graham has three already this season. Four games into his Chicago career, Graham is averaging 3.5 receptions per game. However, in the two the games Foles has played, Graham has 10 catches on 15 targets. Meanwhile, the Buccaneers have given up an average of four catches per game to the tight end position. Outside of Robinson, Foles trusts Graham the most, so expect him to look Graham’s way often, especially in the red zone.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Over 2.5 Total Touchdowns (-122)

Last week the Buccaneers scored a season-high five touchdowns in their victory over the Los Angeles Chargers. Furthermore, the Buccaneers have scored at least three touchdowns in every game this season, averaging 3.8 touchdowns per game. Meanwhile, the Bears have held opposing teams under three touchdowns in all but one game. However, the Bears have faced Matthew Stafford without Kenny Golladay, Daniel Jones, and Philip Rivers in those games. Brady and the Buccaneers offense should have no trouble scoring three or more times tonight.

Darnell Mooney Over 36.5 Receiving Yards (-112)

The fifth-round rookie has looked good this season, seeing 20 targets in four games to go along with one touchdown. Mooney is averaging 36 receiving yards per game and has at least 36 receiving yards in three games this season. Furthermore, Mooney had a career game last week in Foles’ first start. Mooney caught five of his nine targets for 52 yards against a tough Indianapolis Colts defense. With Anthony Miller struggling to be consistent week-to-week, Foles has to throw to someone besides Graham and Robinson. Mooney should hit the over on this bet sometime early in the fourth quarter.
