3 NFL Teams That Could Trade for Courtland Sutton

Courtland Sutton - NFL Trade Rumors, Targets

Denver Broncos wide receiver Courtland Sutton could be traded to a different team this offseason.

With the Broncos and Sutton unable to finalize a big extension so far, the talented wide receiver could be on the move. Here are three teams that could pursue a trade for Sutton.

Carolina Panthers

The Panthers’ receiver room has been weak in recent years, especially since the departure of D.J. Moore in 2023. Many fans were hoping Carolina would address wide receiver early in the draft. They did bolster the position with Xavier Legette, but there is still time to make another splashy move at the position. Sutton or the Cincinnati Bengals’ Tee Higgins are both reasonable targets. Although Sutton may be expensive, the price for Sutton would be well worth it for Carolina’s receiving core.

Washington Commanders

The Commanders hired a new staff this offseason, headlined by new head coach Dan Quinn. They also landed rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels with the second overall pick. It would be nice for Daniels to have an experienced weapon like Sutton where the throw does not have to be spectacular for Sutton to catch it. Just look at Sutton’s time in Denver. A good amount of the throws Russell Wilson made were not spectacular.

Kansas City Chiefs

Our last team also resides in the AFC West. You may be surprised to see the Chiefs on this list because they are the back-to-back Super Bowl champions. Nonetheless, they had statistically one of the worst wide receiver rooms in the league last year. Their unit is either not playing like a Super Bowl-winning group or getting into legal trouble (see Rashee Rice). While the signing of Marquise Brown does help the Chiefs, it would be nice for them to have a wide receiver option like Sutton. Of course, this issue at wide receiver does not matter if they win their third Super Bowl in a row.
