2024-25 NBA Season: The “Redeem” Team

NBA - Tim Hardway Jr.

Whenever players have a bad game or are in a slump, they will immediately want to make up for it by playing better next time. Well, we can round up a bunch of NBA players who cannot wait for the season to start. Why? Because they’ll want to redeem themselves from how bad their year ended last season.

Dalano Banton

When the Portland Trail Blazers had no chance to make the NBA Playoffs, coach Chauncey Billups decided to use his bench players more often. That meant that guys like Banton would have the green light to shoot and score. Well, Banton did a lot of shooting without the scoring. In his last two games, he managed to go 15-for-52 from the field including 2-for-25 from three-point land.

Klay Thompson

It is hard to believe that Klay Thompson went 0-for-10 from the field in his last game for the Golden State Warriors. It is even harder to believe that he also shot 0-for-6 on three-pointers. One of the game’s best shooters having a bad-shooting night will always stand out and that’s why Thompson cannot wait for his next game. The new Dallas Maverick will want to show the world that he still has his shooting touch.

Franz Wagner and Jalen Suggs

The Cleveland Cavaliers eliminated the Orlando Magic in a Game 7 last season. What people will forget is that the Magic were up by 18 points at one point in time before running out of gas. Looking back, it would be easy to blame Franz Wagner who only made one field goal in 15 attempts while fellow scorer Jalen Suggs had a 2-for-13 shooting performance.

Tim Hardaway Jr.

The headlines said that Tim Hardaway Jr. made five three-pointers in the fourth quarter of Game 4. Don’t let that headline fool you. All of that production came in garbage time when the Mavericks were already up by 34 points before his barrage of threes. In Games 1, 3, and 5 of the NBA Finals against the Boston Celtics, Hardaway shot a combined 0-for-8 from the field.

Hardaway is now with the Detroit Pistons and is eager to prove to his new team that he can still play at an elite level.

Ja Morant

Of all the players who are waiting for the start of next season, no one could be more impatient than Ja Morant. Morant probably had the worst time. He started out with a suspension, got injured in the middle of the season, and then his team, the Memphis Grizzlies, missed the postseason in the end. The conscious effort Morant will make to push forward in his sixth season will be one of the stories to watch out for.
