The New York Jets couldn’t even tank right as they won their first game this week over the Los Angeles Rams. Following all the action in Week 15, let’s roll into another mock draft featuring a couple of trades.
1. Jacksonville Jaguars – Trevor Lawrence, QB, Clemson
With the Jaguars owning the tiebreaker over the Jets, they will end up with Lawrence unless they decide to screw up the tank as well.
2. New York Jets – Penei Sewell, OT, Oregon
The Jets miss out on Lawrence and go for the generational tackle instead to protect Sam Darnold. Darnold isn’t the problem, so they need to surround Darnold with more talent and a better coach.
TRADE – Chicago sends picks 16, 79, and a 2022 1st to the Bengals for pick 3
3. Chicago Bears (via CIN) – Justin Fields, QB, Ohio State
The Bears take the opportunity to trade up and grab their new franchise quarterback. This pick would finally get Bears fans excited and make up for them drafting Mitchell Trubisky over Patrick Mahomes and Deshaun Watson in the 2017 draft.
TRADE – Philadelphia sends picks 7 and 71 to the Panthers for pick 4
4. Philadelphia Eagles (via CAR) – Ja’Marr Chase, WR, LSU
Philadelphia jumps at the chance to take the top receiver in this class. Chase gives them a big deep threat and finally a number one receiver to pair with Jalen Reagor for years to come.

5. Atlanta Falcons – Gregory Rousseau, EDGE, Miami
It is clear the Falcons desperately need to improve their pass-rushing and are in a good position to trade down right now. But they don’t get any teams looking to trade up and grab Rousseau here.
6. Miami Dolphins – Micah Parsons, LB, Penn State
The Dolphins watch Parsons fall to them with the five teams ahead of them going for other needs. Parsons would be a great fit for Brian Flores‘ defense and would make an impact from day one in the continually improving Miami defense.
7. Carolina Panthers (via PHI) – Zach Wilson, QB, BYU
After Carolina sees the Bears trade up ahead of them for Fields, they move back three spots to snag an extra pick. With this pick, they take the BYU product Wilson who has flown up draft boards this season. The Panthers need a youngster to replace Teddy Bridgewater, and Wilson is their man.

8. Dallas Cowboys – Patrick Surtain, CB, Alabama
The Cowboys continue to reshape their secondary by pairing Surtain with his former Alabama teammate Trevon Diggs, who made up a great duo in their Crimson Tide careers.
9. Los Angeles Chargers – Jaylen Waddle, WR, Alabama
With no offensive tackle worth taking here, the Chargers give Justin Herbert another offensive weapon to play with. Waddle would combine with Keenan Allen and Mike Williams for a great receiver trio.
10. New York Giants – Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, LB, Notre Dame
The New York defense has been playing at a high level this season and would only get even stronger with the addition of Owusu-Koramoah. While they could look to add an offensive weapon for Daniel Jones, adding JOK would elevate their defense from really good to elite, and we all know defense wins championships. Owusu-Koramoah has been the leader of the Irish defense the past two seasons as an outstanding hybrid linebacker.

11. Detroit Lions – Devonta Smith, WR, Alabama
The Lions could go in any number of directions with this pick. With Kenny Golladay and Marvin Jones impending free agents, they go with the other top Alabama receiver still on the board. If Golladay is not retained, Smith can step in as the number one receiver, or create a dynamic duo with him if he is brought back.
12. San Francisco 49ers – Caleb Farley, CB, Virginia Tech
Every key cornerback on the 49ers roster is on their contract year. Farley is one of the top cornerbacks in this class, and he has plenty of room to grow. Adding him would be a good start to their secondary reset.
TRADE – Washington sends picks 19 and 74 to the Broncos for pick 13.
13. Washington Football Team (via DEN) – Trey Lance, QB, North Dakota State
Washington trades up to take one of the top four quarterbacks in this class. Lance opted out of the 2020 season after his showcase game against Central Arkansas. While he is still very raw, he has a lot of room to grow and could sit behind Alex Smith for a year while he develops. That is of course if WFT does decide to bring him back. Smith is proven to be a good leader to young QBs, ala Patrick Mahomes in Kansas City.
14. Minnesota Vikings – Wyatt Davis, IOL, Ohio State
It’s no secret that Minnesota needs offensive line help. Davis is the top interior lineman in this class and would help create plenty of push. The run game led by stud running back Dalvin Cook would greatly benefit from this pick.
15. New England Patriots – Kyle Pitts, TE, Florida
Whoever winds up as the Patriots quarterback next year will need weapons. Pitts has continued to prove how dynamic a tight end he is and would greatly improve New England’s offense. If any of the top four quarterbacks fall, that could also be a direction they go.
16. Cincinnati Bengals (via CHI) – Christian Darrisaw, OT, Virginia Tech
The Bengals trade back since they missed out on Sewell, who everyone pegged to Cincinnati since we knew they were in line for the third pick in the draft. Since no other tackle is worth taking at 3, they move back and get Darrisaw, who has been on the rise from second-round to mid-first round potential.
17. Las Vegas Raiders – Kwity Paye, EDGE, Michigan
The Raiders are always looking to bolster their pass rush and will look to get an improvement to their 2019 fourth overall pick Clelin Ferrell. Ferrell has not lived up to the hype, while Paye has been a game-wrecker all season for the Wolverines.
18. Baltimore Ravens – Rashod Bateman, WR, Minnesota
The Baltimore offense has been shaky this season. Part of the reason is because of their lack of weapons in the passing game who can hold onto the ball. Bateman is one of the top receivers in the class and would give Marquise Brown a solid running mate.

19. Denver Broncos (via WFT) – Rashawn Slater, OT, Northwestern
All signs point to the Broncos sticking with Drew Lock as their quarterback. Given that, they will need to offer him protection. Slater has played at both right and left tackle during his Northwestern career and would provide excellent depth along the line. Denver passed on selecting a tackle last year, and this could be the year they finally go with a top one in the first round.
20. Arizona Cardinals – Jaycee Horn, CB, South Carolina
Horn has risen in the draft rankings into the first-round conversation. He has plenty of room to grow but has the potential to be an elite corner in the NFL. The Cardinals need to find a replacement for Patrick Peterson, and Horn would be able to step in and make an immediate impact in their secondary opposite Byron Murphy.
21. Miami Dolphins – Alijah Vera-Tucker, OL, USC
After upgrading their defense by adding the physical linebacker Parsons with their first pick, the Dolphins add to their interior offensive line. Vera-Tucker has been on the rise in the last couple of months, and he has plenty of raw skills that can be refined. He would shore up the inside protection for Tua Tagovailoa.
22. Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Jay Tufele, DL, USC
Tufele has been mocked to Tampa Bay frequently this season. He would create a great tandem with Vita Vea in the middle of the defensive line for the Buccaneers.
23. Cleveland Browns – Jayson Oweh, EDGE, Penn State
The Browns need to add to their pass-rushing attack led by superstar edge rusher Myles Garrett. They do that by adding a consistent riser in the draft rankings in Oweh. He has provided constant pressure since stepping into the shoes of Yetur Gross-Matos.
24. Indianapolis Colts – Samuel Cosmi, OT, Texas
The future of the Colts’ offensive line is much in question and Cosmi would elevate their protection for whoever is the quarterback next season. Cosmi has experience at both left and right tackle.
25. Jacksonville Jaguars (via LAR) – Liam Eichenberg, OT, Notre Dame
The Jaguars get protection for their new franchise quarterback. They fill the hole at left tackle that will be left by Cam Robinson likely leaving for free agency.
26. New York Jets (via SEA) – Azeez Ojulari, EDGE, Georgia
After adding top tier protection for their quarterback with their first pick, the Jets move to the defensive side. Ojulari is a quick and explosive edge rusher who can close very quickly on the quarterback. With their big need at the position, the Jets would have an easy decision with Ojulari falling to them.

27. Tennessee Titans – Patrick Jones II, EDGE, Pittsburgh
With Jadeveon Clowney not working out for the Titans, they will have to look elsewhere for edge rush. Jones has the quickness and tough instincts to make him a great fit for Mike Vrabel‘s defense.
28. Pittsburgh Steelers – Kyle Trask, QB, Florida
Ben Roethlisberger is nearing the end, and the Steelers have to start thinking about the future at the quarterback position. Trask has been playing at a high level all season for the Gators as Pittsburgh takes a shot on their future in the first round.
29. New Orleans Saints – Zaven Collins, LB, Tulsa
The Saints bolster their linebacking corp by adding the Bronko Nagurski award winner – which honors the nation’s top defensive player – Zaven Collins. His versatility in playing in the box and in coverage would benefit the Saints’ defense.
30. Buffalo Bills – Joseph Ossai, EDGE, Texas
The Bills need to add more young firepower to their pass rush and do so by adding a fast riser in Ossai. He has a relentless motor and doe anything to go after the quarterback.
31. Green Bay Packers – Kadarius Toney, WR, Flordia
The Packers give Aaron Rodgers another weapon in Toney, who has taken his game to the next level this season. He has turned into a true receiver and playmaker in the Florida offense. His draft stock has been quickly rising into a potential first-round pick.

32. Kansas City Chiefs – Shaun Wade, CB, Ohio State
The Chiefs will need to fill some holes in their secondary this offseason with Bashaud Breeland and Charvarius Ward both free agents. Wade has struggled this season since moving to the outside, but he still has plenty of potential. He might be a better fit as a safety in the NFL, but it’s still to be seen if he will make that transition.
