After a 2-5 start to the 2020 campaign, the Dallas Cowboys are on the verge of turning in the most disheartening season in team history despite while playing in one of the most underwhelming divisions in league history. If the loss on Monday night in Week 6 against Arizona was a wake-up call, then the team’s performance the following week was rock bottom.
Welcome to a weekly installment of NFL picks.
“If there’s a next thing that can take us to another level, I’m open to it”, Pat Riley said during his press conference last Friday. After reaching the NBA Finals this year, the Miami Heat are still looking to add another star. Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo remains the team’s number one target. The next one on the list is Bradley Beal. For the past two years, Miami has tried to acquire Beal from the Washington Wizards but failed.
Week 7 had a couple of notable injuries including a couple season-ending ones. It was also a bad week for running backs as there are three of them on our injury report this week.
The New York Jets stand with an 0-7 record going into week eight against the Kansas City Chiefs. It is expected that they will be 0-8 after that meeting. The current receiving depth consists of Denzel Mims, Braxton Berrios, Jeff Smith, and Lawrence Cager. Jamison Crowder and Breshad Perriman are both injured.
The Chicago White Sox are hiring Tony La Russa as their next manager, but some fans don’t like the hire due to La Russa’s age. He is, in fact, the perfect hire.
The Los Angeles Clippers disappointing season is officially in the past. Doc Rivers is out, with Ty Lue taking over as the team’s head coach. More changes are coming, as the Clippers need to show Kawhi Leonard he does not need to entertain free agency next offseason.
On a San Jose Sharks team stacked with talent with the likes of Brent Burns, Timo Meier, Logan Couture, Erik Karlsson, and Tomas Hertl, it’s easy to forget some of the other catalysts. Hockey fans can add one more name to the aforementioned list of studs in Silicon Valley. That name is Kevin Labanc.
Now that baseball and basketball are over, we have reached that time of the year where our only focus is on football. Normally, having just one sport would stink, but we have some money to make this weekend. Winning tonight’s bets only means more cash to roll into the weekend games.
Andersen Pickard previews the offseason for the Boston Red Sox, identifying top targets and pinpointing keys to a successful winter.
