On Thursday night, the Green Bay Packers shocked the world by trading up to select Utah State quarterback Jordan Love with the 26th pick in the NFL Draft. It seems safe to assume none of the teams in front of them needed a quarterback. However, when teams have a target they covet, they aren’t shy about making moves to assure they get them.
The Denver Broncos went into the draft determined to acquire a weapon, and they were able to stand pat at No. 15 overall and draft Alabama WR Jerry Jeudy.
With the first round of the NFL draft complete, we look forward to the second round as its the only sporting event still going on in the world! Round one of the draft brought some runs on positional groups like linebackers and wide receivers. Yet there was not a single safety selected, which leaves some significant talent on the board. The second round of the NFL draft starts at 7pm EST, so here are the top 30 players remaining in the draft.

Well, what a night that was. The first round of the draft lasted over four hours and had plenty of surprises as we thought. Some teams did what we thought they would, while others went way out of the ordinary. We had multiple surprising selections in the teens as well as the 20’s, as well as a running back taken in the first round. Everyone has different opinions on the draft, and I will try my best to select the winners and losers of last night’s action.

Back in 2014, the Boston Bruins traded away top defenseman Johnny Boychuk. While it seemed painful back then, the Bruins ended up benefitting when all was said and done.
