Broncos Draft Jeudy to Bolster Receiving Corps.

The Denver Broncos went into the draft determined to acquire a weapon, and they were able to stand pat at No. 15 overall and draft Alabama WR Jerry Jeudy.

The Broncos were heavily involved in trade rumors leading up to draft night, with reports speculating they could be trading back with the Philadelphia Eagles in order to add assets, or even trade up with the Cleveland Browns to land the No. 10 pick.

Jeudy slots in as Denver’s number two wide receiver across from Courtland Sutton, and provides Drew Lock a nice secondary weapon in the passing game. Jeudy was the 2018 Biletkinoff award winner, given to the nation’s top wideout, and was the featured receiver for Tua Tagavailoa in the last two seasons at Tuscaloosa.

A 2018 national champion, Jeudy recorded 1163 yards and 10 touchdowns last season on an offense that featured three other top-15 picks and Devonta Smith, who will likely be a first-round receiver next season.

Jeudy stood out as the leader of a loaded Alabama receiving corps, and his tape combined with his college numbers and accolades led many to put him at the top of the wide receiver big board.

The Las Vegas Raiders started the run on receivers at pick No. 12, with Henry Ruggs III, Jeudy’s college teammate. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and San Francisco 49ers both loaded up in the trenches, and the Broncos selected Jeudy over fellow top wideout CeeDee Lamb.

The Broncos have a revamped offense for new offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur to work with during the 2020 season, and Jeudy provides yet another explosive playmaker on an offense that already features Philip Lindsay, Sutton, Melvin Gordon, and Noah Fant.
