With the first round of the NFL draft complete, we look forward to the second and third rounds because its the only sporting event still going on in the world!! The second night of the NFL draft starts at 7pm EST.
Round Two
33. Cincinnati Bengals – Josh Jones, OT, Houston
A round one talent tackle in the second round? Sign me up! The offensive line still needs work, but Jones has the potential to be a long term starter.
34. Indianapolis Colts – Denzel Mims, WR, Baylor
Long, explosive, and reliable hands, Mims has the potential to be a top wide receiver in the league.
35. Detroit Lions – Marlon Davidson, EDGE, Auburn
This pick was between Davidson and AJ Epenesa and the tiebreaker is Davidson’s performance at the Senior Bowl where Matt Patricia was a coach for the North Team.
36. New York Giants – Lucas Niang, OT, TCU
No linebackers here, but there is still a round one talent right tackle. Niang had a hip injury that ended his 2019 season, but in 2018 he held his own against Chase Young and Nick Bosa.
37. New England Patriots – A.J. Epenesa, EDGE, Iowa
A Patriots player through and through, Epenesa can rush from multiple spots and can be a great run defender.
38. Carolina Panthers – Kristian Fulton, CB, LSU
Fulton was supposed to be a top 20 cornerback. The Panthers are running to the podium if they get him in the second, as he can start immediately.
39. Miami Dolphins – Xavier McKinney, SAF, Alabama
McKinney is a versatile safety who can play in the box and cover. He will work will Eric Rowe and completely revamp the Dolphins secondary.
40. Houston Texans – Tee Higgins, WR, Clemson
DeAndre Hopkins was a big target, who was reliable in important downs. Higgins has some improvement to do, but he can fill the role.
41. Cleveland Browns – Jeremy Chinn, SAF, Southern Illinois
The Browns were hoping for McKinney, but Chinn is also a great fit. He allows the defense more versatility and fills a need at safety.
42. Jacksonville Jaguars – Michael Pittman Jr., WR, USC
A short to intermediate threat, for the new system Jay Gruden will run. He will bond quickly with Gardner Minshew II.
43. Chicago Bears – Jonah Jackson, IOL, Ohio State
Plug and play guard that will improve the offensive line and take over recent retiree Kyle Long‘s spot.
44. Indianapolis Colts – Trevon Diggs, CB, Alabama
Diggs is a physical corner who will excel in zone coverage.
45. Tampa Bay Buccaneers – D’Andre Swift, RB, Georgia
The perfect pairing, as Swift can catch out of the backfield and can be a workhorse if he stays healthy.
46. Denver Broncos – Neville Gallimore, DT, Oklahoma
A replacement for Derek Wolfe, except Gallimore has more burst.
47. Atlanta Falcons – Julian Okwara, Edge, Notre Dame
Okwara is a lengthy edge rusher with the burst and power to become a complete pass rusher.
48. New York Jets – Laviska Shenault Jr., WR, Colorado
Shanault’s gadget player that can improve the short to intermediate passing plays. He will be Sam Darnold’s best friend after Mekhi Becton.
49. Pittsburgh Steelers – Jonathan Taylor, RB, Wisconsin
Taylor personifies what being a steeler means. Tough, not willing to go down, and will run right through you.
50. Chicago Bears – Jaylon Johnson, CB, Utah
Perfect replacement for Prince Amukamara, except Johnson has the upside to become a top cornerback.
51. Dallas Cowboys – Grant Delpit, SAF, LSU
Best remaining defender by a significant margin. Delpit was arguably one of the best defenders in all of college football in 2018, he should be able to bounce back.
52. Los Angeles Rams – J.K. Dobbins, RB, Ohio State
The last of the remaining top running backs, and Dobbins could take on the full workload. He’s healthy and has burst.
53. Philadelphia Eagles – Ashtyn Davis, SAF, Cal
A replacement for Malcolm Jenkins who can cover and will play well against the run.
54. Buffalo Bills – Yetur Gross-Matos, Edge, Penn State
This is a Bills pick through and through. Gross-Matos can defend the run and has the upside to rush the passer.
55. Baltimore Ravens – Netane Muti, IOL, Fresno State
A replacement for Marshal Yanda, Muti had dominant film when he was healthy.
56. Miami Dolphins – Cam Akers, RB, Florida State
One of my favorite running backs, who didn’t have lots of assistance from his offensive line during college.
57. Los Angeles Rams – Willie Gay, Jr., LB, Mississippi State
Replacement for Cory Littleton, Gay has the explosiveness to flourish in the position.
58. Minnesota Vikings – Terrell Lewis, EDGE, Alabama
Upside at edge and a replacement for Everson Griffen.
59. Seattle Seahawks – Zack Baun, EDGE, Wisconsin
Replenishes the Jadeveon Clowney role, assists with rushing the passer and stopping the run.
60. Baltimore Ravens – Antoine Winfield Jr., SAF, Minnesota
Can play split field safety and stuff the run. He’s a ‘best available player’ pick.
61. Tennessee Titans – Jordan Elliott, DT, Missouri
Replacement for Jurrell Casey and can rush the passer from the interior.
62. Green Bay Packers – KJ Hamler, WR, Penn State
Hamler has the ability to take a screen to a house and become the deep threat the Packers need.
63. Kansas City Chiefs – Ross Blacklock, DL, TCU
There are rumors about Chris Jones being on the block, this helps them with that
64. Seattle Seahawks – Justin Madubuike, DL, Texas A&M
Bolstering the trenches and will assist in rushing the passer.
