Without further ado, March 29.
Yankees 7, Orioles 1
An offensive eruption helped the Yankees sweep the Orioles. Giancarlo Stanton went two-for-three with a walk and two RBI. Stanton, Aaron Judge, and Gary Sanchez all hit home runs. For Baltimore, Trey Mancini led the way as he went two-for-four with a solo shot. James Paxton allowed just one run on six hits and three walks over seven innings while Jonathan Holder finished the game with two scoreless frames.
Blue Jays 4, Red Sox 2
Boston fell to Toronto in this series as their lone runs came on a Christian Vázquez two-run blast. Bo Bichette led the way for the Jays as he went three-for-five with two RBI. Trent Thorton and Nathan Eovaldi were both chased out of the game after five innings.
Pirates 5, Rays 4
A late surge allowed the Pirates to win the opening series in Tampa Bay. Kevin Newman notched two hits and an RBI while Gregory Polanco and Jacob Stallings added one hit and two RBI each. For Tampa, Yoshi Tsutsugo went yard while Mike Zunino added a three-run shot. Mitch Keller allowed four runs in five innings but the Bucs’ bullpen held on to win.
White Sox 14, Royals 5
Two consecutive five-run innings helped Chicago silence Kansas City. Adalberto Mondesi notched three hits while Salvador Perez added three RBI in the loss. On the other side, Edwin Encarnacion was three-for-four with three RBI and a walk while Jose Abreu was two-for-five with five RBI; they both homered along the way. Both teams tallied 14 hits and an error. Jake Junis surrendered six runs in 3.2 innings while Ian Kennedy gave up four more without retiring a batter.
Indians 9, Tigers 8
A two-run eighth gave the Indians the separation they needed. Detroit tallied 13 hits, including three from Miguel Cabrera. Harold Castro plated three runs as he homered; Niko Goodrum and Cameron Maybin also went yard. For the Tribe, Carlos Santana and Francisco Lindor each plated a pair of runners while Santana and Jose Ramírez both hit homers. Carlos Carrasco and Spencer Turnbull each allowed five runs over five innings, but the Tigers’ bullpen struggled in the late innings.
Athletics 12, Twins 6
A four-run first plus solid run production in the middle innings gave the A’s their first win. Alex Avila knocked in a pair of runs for the Twins before tearing a ligament in his thumb. Josh Donaldson and Eddie Rosario each contributed three hits along the way. For the victors, Matt Olson went four-for-five with two RBI. Austin Allen hit two homers and drove in four runs while Matt Chapman also added two hits (including a homer) and four RBI. Rich Hill was chased out of the game after 1.2 innings but his successors out of the ‘pen did not fare much better.
Astros 6, Angels 2
Early-inning runs were critical in this Houston win. Michael Brantley, Myles Straw, and Garrett Stubbs all added two RBI on one hit. On the mound, Jose Urquidy allowed one run over seven innings while his counterpart, Félix Peña, surrendered five runs in four frames.
Mariners 9, Rangers 5
Seattle pulled away late to earn their third victory of the year. Joey Gallo plated three runs over two homers while Willie Calhoun added a run. For Seattle, Dylan Moore hit a three-run homer while Mitch Haniger added three hits and two RBI. Kendall Graveman was chased from the Seattle mound after allowing four runs over 5.2 innings while Texas’ Kyle Gibson allowed four runs over 4.2 frames.
Diamondbacks 4, Braves 0
Despite two hits apiece from Ronald Acuña, Jr. and Adeiny Hechavarria, the Braves were silenced on the road as they split the series with Arizona. Eduardo Escobar and Josh Rojas each clobbered two-run blasts for the D-backs. Both Mike Foltynewicz and Luke Weaver were pulled after 6.1 innings, but the former allowed three runs.
Phillies 4, Marlins 2
The Phillies struck early and often as they improve to 3-1. Bryce Harper and Rhys Hoskins both homered for Philadelphia. Miami’s top performer was Matt Joyce, whose two RBI were all that the Marlins owned on the scoreboard. Jake Arrieta impressed by allowing just two runs over seven innings while the relievers that followed him allowed one hit over two frames.
Nationals 4, Mets 0
A four-run fifth was the entire scoring production in this one. Howie Kendrick added three hits while Juan Soto knocked in two runners with a home run. Patrick Corbin allowed just three hits as he went 8.2 innings before Wander Suero retired the final batter. Marcus Stroman allowed all four runs as the Mets’ starter exited after 4.2 innings.
Brewers 10, Cubs 3
A seven-run seventh made all the difference in this one. Chicago added just three hits, including an Ian Happ two-run blast, while Milwaukee notched 11. Lorenzo Cain finished with three hits and three RBI while Jedd Gyorko homered. Adrian Houser went seven full, allowing two runs on just one hit while striking out 10.
Cardinals 3, Reds 1
A two-run fifth was the deciding factor in Cincinnati on Sunday. Matt Carpenter tallied an RBI while Paul DeJong hit a two-run blast. Pitcher Miles Mikolas showed off his offensive prowess as he added two of St. Louis’ five hits. Jesse Winker’s single knocked in Cincinnati’s lone run. Mikolas went seven strong, allowing one run on nine hits. Sonny Gray exited after 4.1 innings, in which he allowed three runs on four hits and four walks.
Padres 4, Rockies 3 (F/10)
The Rockies improved to 3-0 with a walkoff win. Trevor Story plated all three Rockies runs as he tallied three hits (two home runs). Pitching was the story line in this one as the Padres used six arms but got the win while Colorado employed four hurlers and allowed two runs over the final two innings.

Player of the Day
Oakland Athletics catcher Austin Allen stood out on Sunday as he hit two homers and drove in four runs in the A’s 12-6 rout of the Twins.
