Here’s a look back at the week that was Week 11 of the 2020 NFL season.
10 Down, 6 to go
With a dominating performance against the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Pittsburgh Steelers are now 10-0. Their next game is the Thanksgiving nightcap versus the Baltimore Ravens.
Red Rifle Returns
Andy Dalton was back under center for the Cowboys. He played well as he looked to be more in sync with his bevy of receivers. Ezekiel Elliot also rushed for 100 yards for the first time this season.
Three’s All-Around
The Cowboys and Washington both got wins on Sunday. Meanwhile, the Eagles lost again. The NFC East quartet now all have three victories. If not for a tie for the Eagles there could very well be a four-way tie.
See You Next Year
Number one overall pick Joe Burrow tore his ACL and MCL in Sunday’s loss to Washington. Before the extent of the injury was revealed, Burrow tweeted see you next year. The support around the league was overwhelming for the Bengals signal-caller.
Lead Grows on Bye Week
The Buffalo Bills were on their bye week. Their lead atop the AFC East still increased. All three of the other teams lost their respective Week 11 contests.
Flashy debut at QB, for Tight End
Due to the announcement coming after Thursday night’s game, the Saints Taysom Hill was still listed in many fantasy leagues as a tight end. Which for those who started him, as opposed to those who wasted a waiver move on Jameis Winston, they were delighted to get double quarterback points.
Playoff Upset Rematch, Same Result
One of Week 11’s most anticipated games was the AFC Divisional Round rematch between the Titans and the Ravens. The back and forth matchup, in which the Ravens led 21-10 in the third quarter, ended after Derrick Henry changed direction and rumbled in for a 29-yard touchdown in overtime.
You’ve Got to Secure the Ball, Especially in OT
In overtime against the Indianapolis Colts, Packers receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling fumbled after making a catch. The Colts recovered and scored to win the game. Prior to that, the Packers receiver was having a phenomenal game.
Not So Fast
The Las Vegas Raiders hosted the Kansas City Chiefs. The Raiders upset their division rival earlier in the season in Kansas City. They were unable to complete the season sweep.
Still Struggling Past Bedtime
Another prime time game for Tom Brady and the Buccaneers, and another loss. Maybe, just maybe there is a connection between his age and later game times. By eight p.m. he may be used to be in his robe and slippers with a warm bowl of clam chowder, New England of course.
