Week 7 Waiver Wire Adds/Drops

Week 7 Waiver Wire Adds/Drops

Week 7 is upon us. The fantasy football season is either the most stressful part of your Sunday or the best. To ease the stress and increase your Sunday happiness, here are some key waiver wire adds and drops.

Adds:

Giovani Bernard | RB, Cincinnati Bengals

Is it really football season if Bernard doesn’t earn at least two starting opportunities? With Joe Mixon hobbled by a foot injury, Bernard is primed to pick up the slack for at least a few games. In life there aren’t many things you can count on, but Bernard being a waiver wire steal once or twice every year is one of them. He is a league winner if you need running back help.

Gus Edwards | RB, Baltimore Ravens

If you need Edwards, odds are you’re in a 12-man league and are struggling with running back depth. Even before Mark Ingram went down with an ankle injury, Edwards was seeing a 32 percent snap share. He has found the end zone on multiple occasions, earning those opportunities over J.K. Dobbins. This is a very low floor but in a pinch, he could start if you are shorthanded.

Travis Fulgham | WR, Philadelphia Eagles

Yes, Fulgham stays on the list for a second consecutive week. He has been big time for Carson Wentz and the Eagles, who have somehow found ways to compete against solid teams. Fulgham has become a favorite target for Wentz in the past three weeks. Ride the wave while it’s hot. Even when others return from injury, he has earned his targets and they shouldn’t diminish much going forward.

Tim Patrick | WR, Denver Broncos

Another “no-name receiver” cracks the list, which happens every year at the receiver position. The Broncos offense has been choppy this season, but Drew Lock seems to favor Patrick over rookie Jerry Jeudy. Patrick leads the team in targets and sees ample red zone opportunities. He is a flex option any week.

Drops:

Marvin Jones Jr. | WR, Detroit Lions

Jones shouldn’t be rostered despite how much flair you think he has. With Kenny Golladay fully integrated back into the offense, Jones has struggled to maintain WR2 status on his own team. There are better receivers available in most leagues, so clear up some space by dropping Jones.

Golden Tate | WR, New York Giants

Tate hasn’t eclipsed double digits this season on a Giants team with few weapons for Daniel Jones. His name alone is not worthy of keeping him rostered. He only saw one target against Washington on Sunday. With Sterling Shepard returning soon, the future looks grim for Tate and his lack of targets.

Laviska Shenault Jr. | WR, Jacksonville Jaguars

The rookie receiver has plenty of potential, but he is the clear-cut fourth option on this team, after the return of DJ Chark and the emergence of Keelan Cole and running back James Robinson. Shenault saw seven targets against the Detroit Lions, but only caught three for 10 yards. This is a tough drop, but there is not much value he can offer your team right now.
