Week 7 of the NFL’s 2021 season is upon us. Bye weeks are now in full effect across the league, and the time to search the waiver wire for streaming options has arrived. With big names headlining the league’s injury list, many owners are left searching for options, and we are rolling along with our weekly fantasy sleepers. After a disappointing showing in Week 5, following a red hot start to the season, our picks delivered last Sunday.

Continuing his strong play over the previous three games, Carson Wentz tossed for 223 yards and two scores in the Indianapolis Colts blowout win over the Houston Texans. Khalil Herbert racked up 97 yards and a rushing score. Latavius Murray also added 44 yards and a touchdown in the Baltimore Ravens victory over the Los Angeles Chargers.

Jameis Winston, New Orleans Saints

Winston led the Saints to their second victory in their last three games in week 5. He threw for 279 yards and four touchdowns while adding six rushes for 26 yards. Finishing as QB5, the former No. 1 overall pick is now averaging 18.1 fantasy points per game this season. Fresh off a bye with a matchup on Monday Night Football against the Seattle Seahawks, play him as low-end QB1.

Pete Carroll’s team has been miserable defensively, and ranks 28th against the pass with 292.3 yards surrendered per game. In addition to this, they have given up 1.7 passing touchdowns on average to opposing signal callers. Owned in just 49 percent of Yahoo leagues and 24 percent of ESPN leagues, this is a high-risk, high-reward option for players in need at the position.

J.D. McKissic, Washington Football Team

Carving a larger role in Washington’s backfield over the past few weeks, McKissic has averaged 5.6 attempts over his last three games. He racked up 110 scrimmage yards last Sunday due to a positive game script in the team’s blowout loss to the Chiefs. With Antonio Gibson still battling a shin injury, start McKissic on Sunday against the Green Bay Packers.

One of the top units in the league against the pass, Packers’ Joe Barry’s defense remains susceptible against the run. They give up more than 108 yards per game on the ground. Furthermore, the unit has also allowed 32.2 reception yards per contest to opposing rushers. Averaging 5.4 targets per matchup since Week 2, McKissic has RB2 upside, with Washington likely to trail for a large portion of the afternoon.

C.J. Uzomah, Cincinnati Bengals

Uzomah has failed to become a consistent option in the Bengals passing game since his breakout performance in Week 4. The 28-year-old has hauled in just five passes over his last two games for 31 yards while adding in one touchdown reception. However, he continues to carve out a role in Brian Callahan’s offense after playing over 64 percent of the Bengals offensive snaps last Sunday.

With the Baltimore Ravens waiting on deck, stream him as a TE2 this week. John Harbaugh’s Ravens are one of the worst units in the league at slowing down the tight end position; they have given up 7.2 receptions per contest, leading to over 75 reception yards. They have also allowed four passing scores to the position so far this season. He offers viable streaming consideration in a plus matchup with six teams on a bye in Week 7.

A.J. Green, Arizona Cardinals

A reliable option for fantasy owners all season long, Green has finished as WR13, WR98, WR16, and WR15 over the last month. Showing strongly after amassing just one reception against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 5, he torched the Cleveland Browns secondary a week ago. Hauling in five of six passes, the University of Georgia product racked up 79 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Green has averaged more than 16 yards per catch and a crazy 10.6 yards per target in 2021. With the lowly Houston Texans waiting in the wings on Sunday, start him as a high-end flex option. One of the worst defensive groups in football, the Texans (1-5) allow over 249 passing yards per game. They have also given up 11.2 receptions on 17 targets on average to opposing wideouts.

Jakobi Meyers, New England Patriots

Continuing his steady stretch of play against the Dallas Cowboys a week ago, Meyers caught five passes for 44 yards. He also hauled in his first touchdown reception before it was ultimately called back due to a penalty. The 24-year-old remains one of the top options in the Patriots passing attack. He has played in over 90 percent of the team’s offensive snaps in five of their six games. Currently ranked as WR42 on the season, start him in this matchup with the New York Jets.

Robert Saleh’s Jets rank 17th in the league in passing yards against and 21st in the league in total yards against. They allow 10.8 receptions and 121 yards per game on average to opposing wideouts. While this could ultimately become a ground and pound game for the Patriots against their divisional foe, look for Meyers to have a safe floor, making him a reliable flex option.
