You aren’t going to win many games when you turn the ball over on 23 occasions, and that was the case for UMass Lowell on Sunday.

NJIT cashed in on UML’s sloppy play, scoring 26 points off turnovers, en route to a 78-65 victory.

Final

UML (5-3) 28 37 65
NJIT (5-3) 35 43 78

UML, despite nine-first half turnover, only found itself down by seven, 35-28, at the break. However, the second half was a different story as they would go on to cough the ball up 14 times, allowing NJIT to seize control of this one.

The River Hawks, who were without leading scorer Jahad Thomas due to an ankle injury, were paced by 17 points from Ryan Jones.

UML will remain on the road for a contest with Wagner (5-1) on Tuesday at 7 p.m.

I personally voted that they should be compensated for their image being used for marketing or recruiting and in a way, they are with scholarships. But we all know that scholarships can only help so much.
