Ever since the Miami Dolphins and San Francisco 49ers trade in March, the NFL Draft world has been waiting and waiting for the next major trade. Now, we’ve finally got one. Orlando Brown Jr. has been sent to the Kansas City Chiefs from the Baltimore Ravens in a deal that involves a shakeup in the latter half of the first round. Brown, a pro bowl offensive tackle, has voiced his concern with the Ravens organization for months now and finally gets the trade he requested in February. The full trade: Kansas City receives Brown, pick 58, 2022 sixth-round pick; Baltimore Ravens receive picks 31, 94, 136, and a 2022 fifth-round pick.

Kansas City Chiefs Grade: A-

After releasing starting tackles Mitchell Schwartz and Eric Fisher back in March, the Chiefs were in desperate need of offensive tackles. With Brown, they’ve found their replacement, and rumor has it that they are already working on a contract extension. The Chiefs gave up a tad too much for a guy that the Ravens don’t have much leverage in negotiations with. However, when looking at how big of a need this was, it is a great trade for Kansas City. This trade also works out very well for Brown, who has voiced his need to only play left tackle. the Chiefs will almost certainly allow him to do just that.

Baltimore Ravens Grade: A

This trade was a really good deal for both sides involved. Baltimore lost Brown’s predilection for playing with them, and the Ravens get to pick up a first-round pick, and more, for Brown. The Ravens now own picks 27 and 31 in the first round this year. This gives them some serious ammo to move up in the draft if they please, or take two talented players late in the round. Furthermore, the Ravens have verbally agreed to a contract with Alejandro Villanueva already, and he will be a nice replacement at the right-tackle spot. The loss of pick 58 may hurt a little bit, but the overall compensation is great for Baltimore.
