Week 4 is officially in the books! Were your teams able to stave off the injury bug? Whether you need an injury replacement or want an upgrade over your current starter, here is a list of streamers with favorable matchups in Week 5. Let’s dive in. The following players are owned in less than 50 percent of Yahoo Leagues.
Teddy Bridgewater, QB, Carolina Panthers
Bridgewater is off to a solid start to his 2020 campaign. He ranks fourth in the league in passing yards (1,147) and sixth in completion percentage (73%). His touchdowns (4) are lacking, but it’s hard to complain when he’s throwing for a ton of yards. Bridgewater has a Week 5 date against an Atlanta Falcons defense giving up 350.3 passing yards per game (second-worst in the NFL). Expect Bridgewater to have to throw a ton in this game, giving him a Top-15 floor with room for more! He’s available in 81% of Yahoo Leagues.
Gardner Minshew, QB, Jacksonville Jaguars
Minshew has been a Top-10 quarterback in fantasy leagues this year, throwing for 1,138 yards and eight touchdowns versus four interceptions. He’s also added 69 yards on the ground (17.25 per game). He heads to Houston this week to take on a Texans defense that has given up 31.5 points per game (fifth-worst in the NFL). With Chark back and fully healthy, Minshew should have no problem keeping up with Deshaun Watson and the rest of the Texans offense.
Derek Carr, QB, Las Vegas Raiders
Carr is doing an excellent job protecting the ball this season. He’s thrown eight touchdowns versus ZERO interceptions. This week, he travels to Kansas City to face Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs. Carr will have to throw 30-plus times to keep up in this game, which gives him a Top-20 floor this week.
Jimmy Graham, TE, Chicago Bears
Graham has averaged 7.5 targets over his last two games, which has resulted in 10 catches for 93 yards and two touchdowns. Graham should get plenty of looks in a potential negative game script against Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He’s a high-floor TE2 this week.
Drew Sample, TE, Cincinnati Bengals
Sample had a decent day last Sunday, garnering five targets for three catches and 47 yards. He had an end-zone target but couldn’t come up with the catch that Jaguars LB Myles Jack intercepted. This week, he faces a Baltimore Ravens defense giving up the fifth-most points to the TE position. Expect Joe Burrow to rely heavily on the 6’5″ target to move the ball.
Eric Ebron, TE, Pittsburgh Steelers
Ebron has been a little more than just a TD-dependent play over his past two games, averaging six targets for four catches 47.5 yards. He also has a touchdown during that span. Ebron should receive five-plus targets this week against a Philadelphia defense, giving up the 11th most points to the TE position.
Arizona Cardinals, DST
Recommending the Cardinals’ defense this week is more about picking on the New York Jets’ offense than believing in their overall talent. Despite only being the 19th ranked fantasy defense, they are sixth in the league in sacks (11). The Cardinals are a high-floor/high-ceiling play this week against a floundering 0-4 Jets team.
Dallas Cowboys, DST
The Cowboys defense not only ranks dead-last in virtually every defensive category, but they’ve scored only one fantasy point this season. Why would I recommend the worst fantasy defense in the league? They host the 0-4 New York Giants this week. Daniel Jones has taken a step back this season, throwing just two touchdowns versus five interceptions. With Barkley out for the season, the Cowboys should have no problem shutting down the Giants this week.
Denver Broncos, DST
The Broncos travel to Foxborough to face journeyman quarterback Brian Hoyer and the New England Patriots this week. Bradley Chubb came alive last week totaling 2.5 sacks against the Jets, and he’ll look to keep up that momentum heading into Week 5. Denver is a deep-league floor play this week.
Ka’imi Fairbairn, K, Houston Texans
Fairbairn makes this list for the second week in a row. Fairbairn is averaging 12.5 fantasy points at home this season, and he is looking at another home matchup against Jacksonville this week. Watson moves the ball better at home versus the road, which should lead to multiple scoring chances for Fairbairn.
Rodrigo Blankenship, K, Indianapolis Colts
Blankenship has scored the second-most fantasy points for a kicker this season. He’s tied to an offense led by competent QB Philip Rivers and a strong run game that should continue to provide plenty of scoring chances. The 23-year-old rookie out of Georgia should be a Top-10 fantasy kicker for the rest of the season.
