Tom Brady makes passes to tight ends much more often than other quarterbacks in the league. Here are the top three players to grace that position in New England during the Brady era.

No. 3: Martellus Bennett

Martellus Bennett played for the New England Patriots for almost two years from 2016 to 2017. He played in 16 regular-season games for the Patriots in 2016, but only two contests in 2017. Over those 18 games, he had 61 receptions for 754 total yards and seven touchdowns. Despite his small amount of time with the Patriots, he made an impact to help the team. In 2017, he helped the team win the Super Bowl, playing in three postseason games along the way and notching 11 receptions for 98 yards.

No. 2: Ben Watson

Ben Watson played for the New England Patriots for seven total years from 2004 to 2009, plus a strange stint in 2019. Over those seasons, he appeared in a total of 81 regular games for the Patriots, tallying 184 receptions for 2,275 total yards and 20 touchdowns. Watson helped the Patriots win the Super Bowl XXXIX. In 2004, he played in two postseason games and made five receptions for 91 yards and one touchdown. He would go on to finish his Patriots career with 10 total playoff appearances, notching 22 receptions, 233 yards, and three touchdowns.

No. 1: Rob Gronkowski

Rob Gronkowski played for the New England Patriots for nine total years. Over all those years, he was a star tight end and an extremely important player who could be relied on to make a clutch catch at any point in the game. Gronkowski played in 115 total regular season games for the Patriots with 521 receptions, 7,861 total yards, and 79 touchdowns. Gronkowski helped the Patriots win three Super Bowls while playing in 16 postseason games for the Patriots. He made a total of 81 playoff receptions for 1,163 yards and 12 touchdowns. Gronkowski has been one of the most dominant tight ends of all-time in the NFL and the clear-cut best in the Patriots’ storied history.
