The Tennessee Titans have been busy over the last 48 hours as they have informed a quartet of veterans that they will be released.
Delanie Walker
The veteran tight end suffered a gruesome ankle injury in 2018’s opening game debacle in Miami. The game saw numerous delays because of lightning. Many thought he would never come back. In the end, he did return for this past season’s training camp. He got on the field but had nagging injuries, some to the same ankle, that shelved him almost all season.
Ryan Succop
The veteran kicker also battled injuries last season. The campaign saw the Titans field a handful of kickers throughout the season.
Dion Lewis
This one was not much of a surprise. Since coming to Nashville after being successful in New England, Lewis’s success never came to fruition in Tennessee. With the success of Derrick Henry playing a major factor in the lack of touches for Lewis, when given a touch or two for Henry to get a breather, he struggled.
Cameron Wake
The big offseason signing in the last offseason made a splash in Week 1 as he recorded two sacks against the Cleveland Browns. Injuries derailed his season, as well. He finished his only season in Tennessee with 2.5 sacks.
The four moves save the Titans over $19 million in 2020. We’ll have to wait and see where they decide to spend it.
