Thanksgiving day is officially here. What better way is there to celebrate than playing DFS? With now only two games on the slate, there are still hundreds of contests to cater to anyone’s needs. As always, the Detroit Lions kick things off with a matchup against the Houston Texans. That game is followed by a big divisional matchup between the Dallas Cowboys and the Washington Football Team.

To cap off the slate, we would have seen a huge AFC North matchup between the undefeated Pittsburgh Steelers and the Baltimore Ravens. However, due to positive COVID tests that game has been postponed. For this slate, I will take a look at both the games and provide you with the top DraftKings Captain and FanDuel MVP, as well as a value DraftKings Captain for each game. They will also all be solid plays in the full slate of games as well. Now let’s jump right into the top player for this Thanksgiving day and night football games.

Houston Texans vs Detroit Lions

DraftKings Captain | FanDuel MVP

Will Fuller (DK Captain $16,800 | FD $13,500)

Fuller has the ability to break the slate in any game due to his speed. He has been excellent this year and that will continue against this Lions defense. They have allowed eight total touchdowns to wide receivers this season and have really struggled lately with giving up yards. In their last two games, the Lions have allowed teams wide receivers to combine for 240 plus yards in each game. Fuller had a touchdown in six straight games starting back in Week 3. However, the last two weeks he was not able to find the end zone and that should change this week. Look for Fuller to have himself a big game.

Value DraftKings Captain

Marvin Jones Jr (DK Captain $11,100 | FD $12,000)

This game should be a shootout, and as long as Matthew Stafford plays, Jones is an excellent value. The Lions receivers are all banged up and that puts Jones in line for more opportunities. In the last four weeks, Jones has scored four touchdowns. However, he has yet to go over 100 receiving yards in any game this season. That could change as he gets an excellent matchup against a terrible Texans defense. They have allowed five wide receivers to go over 100 yards this season. They have also allowed 14 touchdowns to wideouts and plenty of fantasy points. Look for Jones to go over 100 yards and score a touchdown in this game.

Washington Football Team vs Dallas Cowboys

DraftKings Captain | FanDuel MVP

Amari Cooper (DK Captain $12,000 | FD $12,500)

Cooper was having an excellent season before starting quarterback Dak Prescott went down with an injury. He has been good but hasn’t been great without Prescott. Cooper has not scored a touchdown since Week 6 against the Arizona Cardinals. However, that was with Andy Dalton at quarterback. Dalton went out with an injury against Washington in Week 7. Since that game, the quarterback play was very poor. Dalton returned last week and Cooper was able to catch six passes for 81 yards. Look for Cooper to have a big Thanksgiving, just as he did two years ago when he went for 180 yards and two touchdowns.

Value DraftKings Captain

J.D. McKissic (DK Captain $10,500 | FD $11,000)

Washington has been hesitant to let Antonio Gibson have free reign of the running back position. That is due to his lack of experience at the position because he is a converted wide receiver. Alex Smith has proven that he loves throwing check downs to McKissic. Before last week’s win against the Bengals, McKissic saw 29 targets in his two previous games. Last week he only saw four targets but Washington was also leading most of the game. The Cowboys have played better of late and the game script should favor McKissic in this matchup. Look for him to continue to see targets and have a solid game.
