Villanova and Duke were each in action last night so we’ll catch you up on the results of those Top 25 games, and there are three more ranked teams on tap for tonight.

Welcome to today’s Daily Dunk where we recap all of college basketball’s biggest games from yesterday and give you a look at the matchups to watch later today!

Yesterday’s Biggest Games

Butler 66 vs. #7 Villanova 85

The Wildcats got Jay Wright his 600th career victory and sixth win of the season last night at home over the Bulldogs. Unsurprisingly, Jeremiah Robinson-Earl and Collin Gillespie led the way, each scoring 18 points and combining for nine assists. Villanova shot exactly 50 percent from the field and over 43 percent from behind the arc.

#7 Villanova was supposed to play #17 Virginia in a must-watch game at Madison Square Garden on Saturday, but that game has been postponed and it isn’t clear if it will be made up. The next game on their schedule is at Marquette next Wednesday.

Upset Alert: #20 Ohio State 60 vs. Purdue 67

Down goes yet another ranked team. This time it’s the Buckeyes falling to unranked Purdue at Mackey Arena. Ohio State only had two players that scored double-digit points and they only made six of their 24 three-point attempts

This is Purdue’s fifth victory of the season and their first win against a ranked opponent after falling to #24 Clemson earlier in the season. Ohio State will try to avoid consecutive losses against UCLA on Saturday in the CBS Sports Classic.

#21 Duke 75 vs. Notre Dame 65

Duke has not gotten off to the best start after beginning the season in the top-10 and have since fallen out of the top-20 after losses to Michigan State and Illinois. However, they were able to pull out the win at Notre Dame.

Matthew Hurt has consistently performed offensively and did so, again. He scored 18 points (which led his team in scoring) and DJ Steward dropped 16 points of his own.

They needed this win over a conference opponent to regain some confidence; perhaps this will get them on a roll. Notre Dame, on the other hand, falls to 2-3 after having the hardest schedule imaginable to start their season with games against Michigan State, Ohio State, Kentucky, and of course Duke.
